  1. You're definitely right there, there is a lot of artistic license that can be had and has been had with some of the terms. We shouldn't always let the letter of the law get in the way of an entertaining story There's one more part to the character that made me title the post as I did (and I definitely did not mean to be inflammatory to anyone's knowledge or lack thereof, but I now see how you could take it that way) and also why I included the screenshot and the Austin Powers reference: the kicking. In two of her poses, it's clear she is readying and then throwing a kick; that's not something you would see in a grappling martial art like Judo. There are strikes per se, but they are formal, confined to kata forms to show how you might counter them with grapples. It was Kano (founder of Judo)'s intent to remove the kicking, punching, striking and other dangerous parts of the prevalent jujitsu of the time, leaving in the throws and grappling to make it more safe for free practice, or randori, that you could drill frequently. In the interest of de-escalation and restoring merriness to the Haremverse:
  2. I certainly do not expect everyone to know everything, nor did I post this with the intent of underscoring my own knowledge to buff my ego, just to let you know where it is coming from. After all, as you noted, how can we know these things if someone doesn't tell us? It's very unlikely an average person would know the difference! I hope you will accept my apology for the misunderstanding of tone without qualifier - I was not attacking you, nor our moderator friend. A part of my post that is getting skipped, and I think is important here to both my meaning and tone, is the mistranslation of ukemi. That's not a common word, and is mostly used in martial arts contexts, as it is actually a Japanese word. That is not my opinion; it does not mean "throw". Someone put in effort to write her profile and is using relevant vocabulary (which is great!), but misunderstands the meaning. I am trying to be helpful to correct that misunderstanding so others are not confused. That mistranslation is what led me to question whether she is supposed to be a judoka (corrected after I found the original character mentioned in my Harem), or something else where ukemi may have a different meaning in context (as it literally translates to "receiving body"). In Judo, ukemi means breaking your fall.
  3. Agree to disagree here! I have already submitted the in-game ticket after locating it (and yes, I did notice and report the same issue with original Clarisse after noting this one) - not my intention to cause conflict, in fact, I didn't really expect anyone to reply at all! All the best.
  4. Incorrect/inaccurate text is not a bug? I'm a software developer myself, I would certainly appreciate someone pointing it out if I shipped it to production. I am a beta tester for Pornstar Harem on the Discord, and plenty of very similar textual related bugs have been raised in the #bug-reports channel and fixed there. This may not be a breaking bug, but it is still something that should be fixed, no different than if there was a typo in the story text. btw, I already reported it in the Discord before reporting it here, and it was well received as well as noted by others. Would you keep the same energy if a Japanese localization of the game was incorrect? It's basically the same thing here, just a single case. What I shared is neither an opinion, nor a QA, so I didn't know where else to raise it. It ticks the boxes for me for a bug. I acknowledge it is minor, but at the same time, it is an easy fix. I apologize for posting the spoiler, it did not cross my mind that the profile would not be available, but it was to illustrate the bug in question. Rather than removing it entirely, it could have been put behind spoiler tags or a link. I took the initial response as hostile to me, joke or not. I responded with clarification that was not an attack. Outrage is not really an accurate characterization of either of my posts - at all. I'm merely pointing out, plainly, some niche information that I happen to know well, in the hopes of educating and having it corrected.
  5. I think you are confused at the difference between fiction/fantasy, and factually wrong/misdefined. An apple is not a banana.
  6. I am a judoka. I don't know what martial art Knockout Clarisse is supposed to be doing, but she is not a judoka. Kicking, punching, talking about knockouts at all - not very reminiscent of Judo. Also in her profile, ukemi is incorrectly translated as "throw". Ukemi is a breakfall. Nage would be a throw, or more typically nage-waza (throwing technique) I don't know if this is an Austin Powers type misunderstanding (in the 60's in Britain, every martial art was called judo, similar to how someone unfamiliar today might call any martial art karate), but it is not correct. Mod Edit: spoilers removed. Div*
