    Goodbye

Before I leave I want to say goodbye and thanks. Thanks for the help, thanks for the fun, thanks for the company here in the forum. I would almost (*almost!* ) stay for the community. I was planning to write a post to explain why I'm leaving, but to be honest: I can't be bothered anymore. People who have come across my posts here will know. So instead I'll just say: So long, and thanks for all the fish! -Ben
  2. PoA gave a 3 star haremette whose most import stat was the boobsize. I happily ignore PoA, but would never think of leaving because of it. Legendary contest is scheduled to award a 5-star legendary I think? In my book that makes LC waaaaay more idiotic: they risk driving away a part of the player base.
  3. There are enough smart, experienced and/or eager people here in the community that I think we could manage a proposal for a rework. Biggest question in my mind however would be: is KK even willing to get involved in such a project or will they stick to a "it aint broke, so we aint fixing" attitude? Some initial suggestions/reactions to Divie DvDivxxx. The league must be "stand-alone". So no more Contest/PoA missions for PvP wins that can be fullfilled in the League. There should be no tactical reason for people to maintain themselves on an artificially low level. Nothing that happens in the league should affect the Leaderboards. Have the league reset every xx months, with floors (starting levels for the next season) based on the end-position reached. Resource-rewards (Kobans, Yemen, Orbs) should be limited, and mostly reward participation. Reward a bit of yemen with each win, some kobans and an orb with each promotion to a higher level. Rewards for the winners of the season should be non-resource: avatars ("2020 Spring Winner!"), exclusive themes, exclusive clothes sets, etc. Similar to some of the champion rewards. We compete basically for bragging rights, cosmetics and small fries. Remove the bonus from harem level in league PvP. Only the 3 girls in the team count. (Yes, I'm aware that paying players who have easier access to the latest legendary 5 star and can quickly level her up will have an advantage. I'm a F2P players here (for lack of a way to pay), but I realize and accept there must be a reason/advantage for people to pay. I do not think this advantage is so big it will be decisive in the league, but I'm a noob so I could well be wrong about this.) Remove the bonus from XP level. That would truly be the great equalizer. Keep XP for the role it has in the solo game: boosting Ego in fights in the Arena, vs villains and vs champions. As for a problem OP didn't mention: the advantage of being awake at the moment contests end. Is last minute sniping a problem in the league as well, or have things pretty well settled after 5 days? I can't be bothered to be serious about the league (other then figure out how to get to a position that reliably gives me max free kobans) so I don't know. For contests I can only come up with 1 solution: Start 2 "groups". The competition of the rising sun and the competition of the setting sun, to keep things in style. Let people choose which group they want to compete in. The advantage of this is that it completely fixes the problem, and takes no special code from KK, so would be (somewhat?) easy to implement. Probably lots of things amiss and broken with these remarks, but maybe it'll help get the discussion going that Divie is looking for.
  4. I am slightly confused why you choose to lead your post with a dig at the zero-sum comments, but other then that I agree with everything you've said. Almost. Here's the thing. Even if objectively speaking there are things in the game that deserve harsher criticism than this new event, those things are already in the game. That means that a) it doesn't matter if we pick up the pitchforks today or tomorrow and b) it is probably much harder to get KK to change their mind over something that is already in the game and withdraw it vs stopping them from adding even more shit to the game. That means that it makes more sense to try and stop this new event first, and then get back to sniping at the league and the whole PvP setup. I admit that i'm assuming it is even possible to get KK to change their mind about either issue and I have my doubts about that . I've already resigned myself to the fact I simply found this game too late.
  5. You don't understand zero-sum games. 1- Zero-sum game or not isn't about "fair", or everybody winning equally. As you point out there is a great variation in what people have won at the end of any event, either because of RNG and/or the resources committed. I don't think anybody has ever complained that the game lets some people win more? We all know paying players can win more or more easily. The fact that players who know the game will win more says absolutely nothing about this new event being zero-sum or not. Your whole argument isn't even about this new event but about the game as a whole? How does that contradict the new event being a zero-sum game event? I'm confused. 2- You are overly focused on the girls as the resource. Think of the odds of getting a girl. Every player starts the event with equal odds. Every player who gets more shards and thus increases his odds to win does so by denying the shards to another player and thus reducing that other player's odds to gain a girl. Classic zero-sum game. If you are fine with playing a zero-sum game, that's ok, you can just say so. Different people like different things. I don't understand what the point is of trying to deny this event is indeed a zero-sum game. PS, it's kinda funny to apply game theory to an actual game!
  6. I was really happy to see cave kimie in the event. Now that the event is nearly over and I have managed to scrape together a whopping 45 shards for her, I'm left wondering. Should I simply ignore *all* events (instead of only PoA that I already ignore) or should I ignore the whole game?? To add insult to injury, I did pick up Ornette, who I think is ugly AF and just a further stain on my harem. Even worse: 2 of my mess-around accounts are doing much better with the shards. So, eh, so far... no, not happy
  7. This move turns the game into a zero-sum game: a player's gain can only come at the expense of, or by limiting/restricting/denying, another player. Being part of a community where we all strive to gather our girls, or being part of a group of players who compete over a limited resource are two very different things and has a *huge* impact on the the community/group of players behave. For example, why would you help another player on the forum, if he might end up beating you to a girl and you end up with nothing. Or even worse: less then nothing if you spend yemen, koban or even RL $ in an effort to win and yet lose. In the current game, there is room for casual game-play. In a zero-sum game, there is not. Zero-sum games have very little pull for me. Otoh the friendly interaction on the forum here is a large part of why I still play. If this actually becomes a regular thing and the only way to get legendary 5-stars, I can already say I will leave.

  9. I bet! Your eyes must have been really tired at the end of the day before dark themes became fashionable. You could try turning down the brightness of the display, but that's going to be a drag. If you are on Windows maybe use setting to change display temperature with a really early "bed-time"? That will set things to normal again in the morning.
  10. Actually... OK, Ergonomic theory stuff inc, ignore as desired. There is less variation in contrast (and therefore a more stable image) with a lighter background and darker font. The ratio of pixels turned off/on varies less. This is better for your eyes as they adjust to the general level of light coming your way, and not just specifically for the tiny point you are looking at. With a dark background your eyes will open to let more light through, resulting in over-lighting parts that are light (pictures, etc). If you find a dark background with lighter characters easier, especially at night, you probably do not have ambient light around your display at a level comparable to the strength of the light of your display. OTOH, darker backgrounds save energy, so there's that :D.
  11. Yeah, nice changes. Especially the money no longer flies in the Harem. And yet, once the current event is over, I'm going to take a break and look for some other game to play. I can not express in words (well, polite words) how much I *loath* that insane notification bar. As long as that's in the game, nothing else you do, add, fix, improve really matters. Edit: BTW, LMAO. Jeanne? Really?? *That* is the girl that you though needed fixing?
  12. As the deal with Skrill is off, I think this necro is justified? Even more then at the time of the OP: credit/debit cards are going out of fashion, *fast*. And I agree, adding paysafe as an option for other things should/could/will help. I know I probably would have dropped a bit (either through Skrill or paysafe). But maybe KK is more interested in wales, and wants to focus on easily repeatable payment methods?
  13. Ah, but what a page!! I had fun reading it, off-topic as it might have been. Also, you and Darsca have been *so* much more polite then I would have been...
