Hey, guys!


Two new moderators are joining the ranks!
Both of them are well known and active in the community.

Let's have a big round of applause for @DvDivXXX and @Slynia  

They will be joining alongside @GeorgeMTO so, please be good to them, they are here for you!


A big thank you to @Darsca who has dedicated his time to the community.

@Slynia I have an issue with this post. DvDivXXX doesn't want to be tagged. He's a mod now, I don't agree with this.

P.S. blame DvDivXXX for the tag, Slynia. He told me to do it. The proof is in the quoted post, which will also tag him :D

I bet that if you are really interested, a bit of rethinking about my posts since I appeared on the forum should give you at least an idea about what my order is. :) After all, you demonstrated in many occasions to have a good memory.

No, not jealous, just a bit confused by "one of the best" with such a small selection to choose from xD.
So maybe you remembered some other mods that I couldn't remember :|.

I think it's like "New York's finest" for NYPD. The mod force is "Kinkoid's bests" so each of us is one of the best. ^^

Just to clarify: 

with GeorgeMTO as the lone star moderator it was equal to get a moderator's attention: reporting or pinging.

Now with three moderators it is easier to ping any of you in using this reporting link?

While it is unchanged that "report issue" notifies as well the staff member from Kinkoid?

Pinging is better if you want attention or help. While reporting is saved for contents that are breaking the rules (reported content is something everyone with mod rights get notified off).
Content in the wrong section can just be ignored, as I check out every new thread created in the ENG forum and will move one when I see one (and my fellow mods obviously do the same).

I'd like to add to Slynia's reply (which is perfectly correct):

  • You can only report a specific post, and from there you must select what rule you think it breaks, and type a message to give more details. So it's definitely not the right tool to use if you simply want a mod's attention or advice on something. Abusing the report button is actually against the forum rules, and users who do that can be warned or punished, so tread carefully. Before reporting something, it's good practice to ask yourself "does this actually break a rule, or do I just dislike it?"
     
  • As for tagging or pinging a specific mod in a thread you think they should check or you'd like them to visit, it's completely fine. It's just that, unlike a report, only the mod you tag will get a notification, and even then it will be grouped with all their usual notifications (X quoted you, Y reacted to your post, Z replied to a topic you follow etc.). So be patient, and maybe have a look at our profiles before choosing who to tag: if I made a post 5 minutes ago and I'm still online and visiting a thread, I'm probably a safe bet. If I've been offline for 8 hours, not so much.
     
  • As mentioned, all three of us routinely check out the forum's activity, and we tend to read or at least check any new thread, and monitor heated discussions or potentially slippery topics anyway. So in most cases, if there's a problem, at least one of us will notice it soon (sometimes two of us, and exactly at the same time, even ^^). So don't worry too much about those things in general. The Mod Force has your back.

If in doubt, just tag @Slynia. 😛 (joking!)
