For newbies: AFTER ONE YEAR OF HH

Recommended Posts

It's an year for me! An year that started by random googling 'Harem pronunciation" and click on a "very fun ero game". And I joined only 'cause it ran on my vintage device (to note: is the same device again).

What happened in this time? Let's do an historycal.
A] I lived the transition from old system to BDSM, and to my humble opinion the game is now better. For those curious, in the old system you picked just 3 girls (probably of your Class, that's why classes are there) and no Elements or stuff. In a word, you simply max out the best 3 girls you could find and that was all the metagame.
The transition was criticized, but in time I think people started to like the shades of customization it open to you.

B] I've seen the rise and ultraquick death of Dating Tokens. By collecting Dating Tokens in events, you could purchase the missing shards of girls. It wasn't so drastical, you needed gargantuan amounts of Tokens for a girl, but they thought someone could spoil it and so, goodbye. It was the less lasting feature ever.

C] I've seen the proliferation of Legendary *5. I suppose the game changed magnitude.

D] I've seen the rise of "adding something new each month". I do like the idea a lot, sometime I don't like what they came with. The game require an overall refactoring (what's the use of Classes?! Why girls have 3 scores?!) and I hope one day they'll spend time to do it and upload HH2.0.

E] I've seen Awakening, the most debated change of them all. Once, upgrading girls were limited by your level. So, to speak, I had an entire harem maxed out with no effort. Maxing girls wasn't a gameplay feature at all, just collect, click, add or not to your team. I do like the gems idea, while it offer the flank to some issue again. Mixed feelings, but the most important part: I've seen people drop the game for that. Too much of a reaction, IMHO.

And that's practically the history so far. All other facts were minor or didn't touched me so I don't know more about.

In this year I've learned something.

0] There are lot of fun people all around the world.

1] A mod can be gentle, assertive, hard on you, disposable or whatever: being a mod is a service they do to keep a nest of wasps under control. Sometime they get bitten both by users than by consequences of their decisions, and that feel painfull as it could to you. Try understand mods.

2] Many people in last 20 years entered the abundancy mindset. They want, so they *must* obtain for the simple reason *they want* it. I suppose this trend come from the online marketing aptutide of serving you what you called for the whole time. There's no shortage online. I don't like it. Try be poor and feel the emotion of *renounce*. It's astounding what you can do by having no desire.

3] Be patient. This game doesn't like rushing. Really, you *cannot* rush. See below.

4] You can spend, but mind that this game is a never ending shop, with many many compulsory inciters. Naked girls, promise of power... I'm one that buy stuff, but the mindset must be rational. I like the game, it does entertain me many hours a day, the ones that make it possible deserve at least 2 euro daily from me. I pay that same amount for a coffee on a bar each day for the same reason (feel good and relax for a while). Spend money only if you really feel invested in the game, you do plan to play for long, and by method. Once you're "responsibilized", there's no shame into pay a fee you do think is proper for the service.

5] Whatever your deeds, there will be someone better than you. You cannot be the best in this game whatever sum or effort you'll do, simply 'cause is a matter of time. While you grow, others grow too. Another reason to get informed, steal knowledge and plan your actions at proper speed.

6] Until you don't experience it, there's an hidden metagame that run behind the curtains. That's mean again you cannot rush and pretend to win the same: what happen at high levels depend on the conduit of all other players. Is just out of your control. Try to learn step by step *how to play*, even if you do feel smart. Is not that you aren't, but in the land of blinds, the one eyed man is not king, is just out of place. And that's why someone here will simply reply to you "go study", as that's true: until you don't hit the true metagame, you don't know what the game is.

7] The game can change and *surely will change* while you're playing. That's not a reason to immediately rush to conclusion and drop everything. Sometime (and most of times) a change can turn benefictual on the long term. That is: don't sit on your habits, and assume an elastic approach. If they change something, see how you can spoil it before thinking they are against you: they aren't at all, we are thousands and thousands, they actually doesn't know you.

8] Don't debate with a drunk german. That was shocking, I thought german people cannot be drunk ever.

And that's all. I don't think you need to know my harem size, level or whatever. My best girl so far, art speaking, is Murane (probably Any the same). The worst is Ivanka. The waifu is Luxuria.
The best girl plotwise is Bonny. I think the Hero in the end will marry Ankyo in a very romantic/drama story, after trying with Agate (but they break after a while, too much of responsibility for her). Bunny will simply fade searching for other heroes, but with a small tear falling.

Bye.
