Club gift feature

I would like a game feature that allows me to buy gifts for my club mates. Something like being able to buy everyone in the club a silver or gold card, or buying everyone in the club a booster bundle once a week. Maybe it can add to my club contribution score or something, but that isn't the point. I believe this opens up a new fun revenue stream for Kinkoid, and lets us share the love with our friends.

What does everyone else think of this suggestion?

Me, an entirely unbiased independent, think this is one of the best suggestions ever posted on this here forum and thereby declare that this feature should immediately be added. The most opportune time would be around Christmas for it is the time of giving. KK get to it.

So I'm getting the "why is this crazy person wanting to give stuff away?" vibe. I guess I'm just fed up of Holy whinging about how few kobans he has. That and I see how excited everyone in the club gets when one of those free 3-day cards get awarded to everyone (except for those who already have cards - where's our freebie?!)

I still think it's a good idea. I like the idea of doing things that can help club mates out during contests or events, and I like the suggestion of being able to send gifts the way of the script authors who make the game that bit more enjoyable. Zoopokemon, Numbers and MM all do great work for the community and I know I'm not the only one who'd like to show my appreciation.

Tracking is a valid concern brought up. It's quite simple really - as long as the club id or the player id is included as part of the transaction, you've got the buyer, you've got the recipient(s), and you've got the usual transaction details. I don't see how it can be abused or manipulated, unless there's a bug in how the gifts are delivered.

And I totally accept the concern about not wanting cards if trying to avoid obtaining girls (really? I mean after elemental bonus are capped maybe, but even still!). Okay, I don't get it, but I'll accept it 😜

Gotta love how the two moderators chipping in their 2p worth are both equally guilty of derailing - admittedly that is to be expected with Holy 😇 I don't think you could cope with me in your club DivX - this would be me:

I agree. I'd pay to send gifts to them. At this point, playing HH is more due to OCD than enjoyment. Tom's script and Zookpokemon's spreadsheet are what keeping me sane.

For sure. ^^ I couldn't last five minutes in you guys' club chat.

About the one aspect I think makes sense in your initial suggestion (which I now realized you've actually posted in Feedback rather than Suggestions, by the way ^^):

  1. Numbers opened a Buy Me a Coffee page and a decent number of players showed him their appreciation for his work there.

  2. As far as I'm aware, neither Tom208 nor Zoopokemon have a similar page you can make donations to, but they could open one too.

  3. I'm not familiar with what MM is doing for the community at large? I only know him as a league opponent, forum poster and now HPF co-leader.

  4. Gifting stuff is certainly a great option on huge platforms like Steam, but yeah it's a lot of extra work and potential security issues to deal with for one standalone browser game and one relatively small developer like Kinkoid. I'm not even sure Nutaku has that option, and it's the biggest 18+ game platform out there. So while I appreciate the sentiment, it's not a realistic suggestion at this time unfortunately.

Cheers.

PS: I honestly think this thread ran its course. I'll leave it up to Holy to close it, though. With great chatty club comes great responsibility. 🚬

It doesn't have to be implemented as a "Gift" feature though. Some games sell "Club/Guild bundles". If anyone in the club buys them, club mates receive part of the bundle too (or the full bundle).

Fair enough, I've seen a system like that in other games. It's not super healthy though (and the game in question had the most predatory monetization I've ever bothered with). It encourages and rewards people for catching whales in their clubs, or joining famous clubs with whales in them.

Oh. This thread being 95% HPF suddenly makes a lot more sense. :D💨

I think it can work, but it needs to be limited in amount one can buy and gift, and also it needs to not be limited to in-club gifts. It may be beyond the scope of what Kinkoid wants to do, but the technical side is very possible to lock down. The questions are:

Is it worth the cost in money and effort to implement? Maybe, depends on the playerbase's interest.

Do they have the technical skills in-house? Probably not, as you need multiple specialists, and "auditor" isn't a common skill set in game companies. They probably have somebody who can handle the database modifications, though.

How does Kinkoid see the game evolving from a revenue generation standpoint? What streams are they looking to implement, and what to avoid? That's a management question.

My bad, didn't realise there was a suggestions forum. I tried to move this topic but got a permission denied error so could you take care of it please?
