Of shards and leagues

I think the shard economy in leagues is a bit ridiculous. The only reason I've been playing leagues is to get the shards out of it but every level it's gotten harder and harder. First place in "Dicktator III" gets 50 shards getting there multiple times just makes them meaningless, meanwhile those having trouble getting past the lowest rung will get a measly 9 shards. Always trying for the most shards just inadvertently moves you up to more difficult levels. If maybe there was an easier way to get sent back to "Wanker I" I wouldn't be so griped about this.
