purchases Error While Processing Card (UK)

When trying to purchase anything using a credit/debit card, I am unable to change the type of card from the 4 given options (Visa, Visa Electron, Master Card & Maestro), I don't know if that is a problem within itself but either way when i enter in my correct card details it displays the Error "An error occurred while processing the card" after loading another screen for a few seconds from my bank, i've checked and of course no payments have been made..

I would like to know a solution so i am able to purchase stuff in the future

Another problem would be the fact that the United Kingdom prices are displayed in Euros and not the United Kingdom's currency, Great British Pounds
