The shard system is failing. I had better chances getting the girls the old way. I lost out on 4 girls that I would have gotten but did not because of the shard system. Please either make it to where you can win a shard a fight or up the amount of shards you can win. Another option is to go back to the old way and make a percentage system per fight. Say for example have it were you take 300 fight and in those 300 fights you have the percentage system in place 1 fight you have a 3% chance to get the girl and it goes up until you get the girl. if you get the girl before the 300 fights it resets for the next girl if you did not get the girl before the 300 fight you get the girl on the 300 fight then it resets for the next girl.
