Well if your point is that the game economy is rigged and unfair towards free players, no argument there. I haven’t found any other *rechargeable* way to gain XP, and I doubt there will ever be one, nor will there be a way to recover energy (except through kobans), because that’s the limiting factor to progress through the story. That’s the sad state of gaming today in general: the industry has figured out exactly where the pinch points are and how to exploit them to maximise profit.

Don’t forget your Tower of Fame battles. These are a great way to earn extra XP. You get much more XP than Arena battles. And when you have leveled up enough, even if you can’t win the battles, in ToF you will gain XP (and rank points) even if you lose. Start with the highest level opponents when losing battles, as that will get you the most XP. Note that you shouldn’t do this with Arena battles, because you will lose Mojo!
