  1. The roll continues!! I now have all of Finalmecia's girls with the final girl, Edna, just having dropped. There's definitely a patchiness about the luck I've been having since I started playing this game in June last year. The good news is I no longer have to face the humiliation of being beaten by Finalmecia when this time comes. In the meantime, she pays out enough for a win for me to upgrade Samane to her 4th star reasonably quickly.
  2. I have to say I'm on a bit of a roll, myself, at the moment. In my newest game where I'm on lvl 72 and Edwarda is on 80 I had Bonny and Eugénie drop within 4 battles of each other. In this account I have only Edna to get and I've had similar success with other accounts (including Sylvia from Sylvanus quite early on). We were told that, once we get girls, drops seem to be easier from then on and this appears to be borne out. It does perk one's spirits up when this happens, but the downside is that in this account I need to urgently upgrade Samane to 4 stars before Finalmecia starts to be competitive enough to beat me. Perversely, I could do without drops at the moment. Already, all three of my and my opponent's girls are in play most of the time now and she sometimes gets me down to an ego of 24k (from 64k). As I said, I still have Edna to get before I can backtrack to other worlds beyond Bremen (I have all his). So I need to focus on upgrading Samane.
  3. Holy hell!!! It's a real shock when it happens. In another account I'm about to finish The Juy Sea and I had Jeanne drop. I wonder if I can get Bonny before I finish. She's the last in this world left to drop for me. Oh, I didn't fall off my chair this time, so all's well.
  4. That's rather a simplification of randomness. Consistent patchiness (extreme and consistent variations in drops actually happening, for example, over an extended period), is not a feature of true randomness. I've had consistently wide swings in fortune from event to event ever since I began playing this game in June last year (and consistently over several accounts). This applies less to drops of event girls than to regular troll girl drops, I've found. They seem to coincide with tweaks (patches or mini-patches) that the developers introduce in the name of making the game 'fairer' or altering the game to make it more interesting. During the relatively good spells I get more typical examples of random drops: quite long periods without a drop occurring and, very rarely, two drops within the same battle round (in one case I got Eugénie and Jeanne dropping one after the other). I do get what you mean. You don't toss a coin and get heads, tails, heads, tails in that order consistently (but of course this is possible over a relatively short span of time). But what has an almost infinitely low probability is always getting heads for ten minutes with the coin tossed every 2 seconds and then always tails for another ten minutes. This is far from an exact analogy of this game, but too many people have reported very poor or zero drops since the update for it to be dismissed as a simple quirk of randomness. The other thing about generating randomness through computer software (or any other automated random generation of numbers/items by electro-mechanical means) is that it can never be truly random. It has often been described as pseudo-random. The essence of randomness is that its occurrence can neither be explained nor predicted. Yes we can determine a probability of something occurring as a statistical prediction, but this is not the same as certainty and the larger the sample obtained the closer we get to determining probability of a random event occurring, but we can never be certain. The best example of pseudo-randomness is the WWII Enigma machine which supposedly generated random letters when the rotors were spun randomly by the operator. The codebreakers at Bletchley Park discovered certain flaws in this generation of letters that meant the machine would generate a predictable response to an input of the same letter after a certain number of entries. This was over and above the human flaw in how code was entered and generated by people who didn't think randomly at all. I won't go into it because it would bore too many people, but the evidence is well-documented, within the constraints of the still secret nature of the Government Code and Cypher School (GC&CS) operating at Bletchley Park at the time. Ironically, it was the introduction of a strict table of daily code entries to set the Enigma rotors by the Kriegsmarine (German navy) that defied all attempts to break their Enigma code until quite late in the war. So, every time the developers of this game tweak the drop rate (which it has been admitted they do from time to time) then an element of non-randomness is introduced into the game, no matter how much they wish to assure us that randomness has been retained over an extended period of time.
  5. I'm still withholding my full judgement, but some in the know who replied to this topic strongly implied that there was, indeed, some tweaking to the drop rate ('to make it fairer'). We were told that, once we get our first troll girl to drop (it apparently doesn't apply to event girls), our chances improve. That remains to be seen, but, if it's true that tweaking had taken place to disadvantage us, as many suspected, and this reduced our chances of getting random drops, then it was pretty poor form to introduce the changes right in the middle of an event. It was lucky for me that I got both event girls fairly early on in all but one of my games and only one since the patch update. I'm now wondering if such tweaking is periodically routine as this might explain my VERY patchy luck in getting girls, sometimes spanning from event to event. This is the first time, however, my luck dried up in the middle of an event across all my games. I can't complain too much, as I implied above, because this has been the single most successful 14 day event for me since I started my first account in June last year. Not only that, but in Epic Pachinko, I managed to get two more event girls: Loving Virginia and Loving Justine, as well as Empress Tsubame who was, for me, almost as big a prize as Lupa would be. Re. random drops of troll girls, in this account I had Salem drop about 5 hours ago. I will be following with interest to see whether my one remaining girl from this world, Edna, drops. In none of my other games have any troll girls dropped as yet and the worlds range from the The Juy Sea and Magic Forest to Plain of Rituals. As I had said earlier, it was such tedium to battle time after time after time, when Loving Bunny dropped yesterday I got such a shock I fell off my chair and I'm now nursing a shoulder injury (no bull!). It was the same when Salem dropped, although I recovered my composure enough to not hurt myself. She's such a beautiful, statuesque form as it is, but her silhouette is particularly prominent, merging into her already dark attire. How could such a huge-titted lovely appeal to me, I wonder; I normally don't like such big boobs, but there you are. She sure does, though, almost to the point of obsession. I know what you're all saying. She's a damn cartoon and a creation of an artist, but the artist who conceived her, who then drew a series of images of her, is very skillful indeed.
  6. Yeah, I've got one account to get all three event girls - no luck so far. I haven't had one troll girl drop since the patch update, so my chances (according to some) will remain abysmal until I get one of them. Meanwhile, it's not all bad news. In this account I've levelled up Finalmecia to the point where my earnings from defeating her are now on parity with what they were earlier (at maximum
  7. I fell off my chair again!! Especially since I just had the beautiful and mysterious Salem drop. I think she's fair compensation for not earning any money this battle, don't you think. If people who have a lot more knowledge about the subject are to be believed, I might be on my way again with drops more frequent from now on.
  8. Since the patch update the only girl who dropped for me in my newest account was Loving Bunny. In my hardcore account I'm still to get her, but I have both event girls in each of my other accounts so I'd be moaning to complain too loudly. However, I have not had a single troll girl drop since the patch in any of my accounts. It's not all bad news, though. As I'm struggling to earn enough money to upgrade Samane to her 5th star, my battles against Finalmecia are paying dividends. As she is steadily being levelled up with each win against her she is now paying out 6k more for 2 combativity points (29k) than the maximum she ever paid out (23k) for the 2 points I had to pay out per battle prior to the patch. Once I get her paying out 17.2k per battle, this will bring to to parity with what she paid out before, taking the much slower recharge rate per combativity point into account (30min per point compared with 20min for 2 points under the old system. All this means my earnings in beating her are building fast enough to encourage me in my quest to complete Samane's final upgrade. Given that this will cost me 19.4m, I need to get my skates on! The other side to this is that Finalmecia's getting slowly stronger and may become competitive. For the first time she's endured long enough to allow my alpha girl enough time to orgasm! That's a new situation. I'm interested to know when she'll be able to beat me.
  9. Wow!! 23m! To even considering upgrading Abraël I assume your specialty is charm. Otherwise, she's not worth the upgrade - certainly not for me. If you are, she is sure competitive in the arena and worth trying to upgrade - not just in attack power either. The only way I can beat charmers with her as maxed out alpha is if I manage to inflict a few critical damage blows!
  10. No but if it's going to cost me 19.4m to complete the upgrade, unless I'm really disciplined I'm going to be tempted to spend it on upgrading new girls. One of these has been Loving Justine (I was just too curious about her to resist!). As well as this, I have to keep levelling up my girls as mine rises in order to remain competitive in the contest. Technically, I have only my team girls to upgrade, however. I will get Loving Arcana in the next two days.
  11. Hey Guys, shock horror and some shoulder injuries!! I just had Loving Bunny drop in my 62 lvl game! It was such a shock I literally fell off my chair and hurt my shoulder in the process! For real! That big shadowy silhouette was what did it. I wasn't dreaming this time. I checked my harem and, yes, she's there. But because I've just really started out in the Juy Sea in that account it'll take me a bit to upgrade her. It costs an arm and a leg just to progress through this world.
  12. Well, hopefully it'll get better from now on... as I pick myself off the floor after I fell off my chair! Why? I just managed to get Loving Bunny drop in my newest account where I'm level 62. It was a bit of a shock and completely unexpected! That means I have had both event drop girls for 5 of my 6 accounts (or should I say my 3 and 3 belonging to the 2 females in this household). For the remaining I only need Loving Bunny. As well as this, the only one of the event girls I haven't got yet in Epic Pachinko is Loving Pelagie. In all, it was my most successful event I've had to date, despite the really poor effort post-Wednesday after the patch update. I'm also starting to do better in the arenas, even against opponents with a higher ego and greater attack power. Most of the time it's been pure luck through a critical damage attack.
  13. Your explanation is as clear as mud! However, as I take it, we have to wait patiently for a new girl to drop before our chances improve. You have confirmed that the system has changed (that Y no longer resets for every troll with each new girl) and these changes appear to have altered the whole drop rate across the board.
  14. I have a few accounts in the way you suggested. I inherited three from females in this household who subsequently found HH excruciatingly boring and sexist (unsurprisingly!), so rather than let them go to waste I took over playing for them - with their grateful permission of course. The girls now get all the nuisance emails generated from my forum postings (lol)! I have three profiles of my own so I'm playing 6 accounts in all. While I cannot check whether there's been a change from a fresh account (for my newest game I'm level 62 and starting - and stuck! - in the Juy Sea), I can compare across a wide range of advancement, from lvl 62 to 187. I can report that the answer is consistent across all profiles: - a regular if slightly patchy drop rate before the patch update for all my profiles, to utter zero for all of them since. It's like I hit a brick wall! Before the patch release I was particularly successful with event girl drops across all 6 profiles and both girls in four of them, a first for me. To me the dramatic contrast in fortunes is beyond chance and I believe something has changed in the game. Having said that, if I were to have the one remaining event girl drop (Loving Bunny) before the end of the event in at least one of my two games where she hasn't dropped, this would make a bit of a liar of me wouldn't it. However, there is still a chance I will be successful in at least one of these games over the remaining 4 days as others have reported having girls drop (in one case, three and two of these off one troll).
  15. Yes, that's as I understood it too. In my most advanced game I'm know-how, but I've also maxed out Abraël and Juliette, and close to maxing out Noemy. I have no charm games so it would be great to be able to give this a try. With the availability of epic books at reasonable prices it won't be too hard to max them out to my current level. However, if it doesn't work out and I want to change back, it may be costly. At the moment, charm offers the best stats, but this might change when I finally upgrade Samane to all 5 stars. She's on the green upgrade button at the moment, but I have to fork out 19.4m to complete the upgrade. So I'm humming and harring about a change.
  16. Yes, they're the players who keep the HH business afloat. Since the only real rewards in winning the first four places in the contests is kobans, I see no point in buying them just to win fewer at the finish of the contest. I'm finding it harder and harder the win any place in the contests so now I don't bother stressing over them, probably because I'm up against the kinds of players you describe. Maybe the changes to the arena battles will level the playing field a bit more because by nature it has become more randomised.
  17. Has anyone managed to get to the maximum affection level for Samane yet? In my most advanced game, I've got her to the 5th star green update button - important since I'm know-how. It's going to cost me 19.4m to complete the upgrade, though - the most expensive upgrade yet, as I predicted it would be! Somehow, I think the monumental patience to get there will be worth it, as long as I don't get any more girls (lol!). She's already my alpha girl at 4 stars. Imagine what she'll be like at 5! At last I'll be able to give those charmers with fully upgraded Abraël as their alpha and Flight Attendant as their beta a run for their money. Up to now I have had no hope against them in arena battles, unless I can knock them out with critical damage and that's rare because they have just as much of a chance (perhaps even more) of doing the same to me.
  18. A member named Tiffany has provided a statistical mathematical formula to demonstrate that my assertions re. probability are wrong and the that the more we play the more chances we have to get a drop. If this is true, then HH have very likely lowered the probability of getting a drop each battle. Because the whole thing is meant to be random, we have as much chance having two or more girls in a row drop (as happened to me once - Jeanne and Eugénie from Edwarda) as we'd have trying for over 200 battles and getting nothing. I've been playing these kinds of games for ages now and this one seems different. Luck is a LOT more patchy and this patchiness lasts over extended periods (such as between events). In this case, the drought suddenly hit my games bang on the release of the patch update with half the event to run. I can speculate all I want, but it seems to me that HH have fiddled with the probability algorithm and they seem to do this from time to time as routine housekeeping and mini-updates. We'll never know one way or the other. In my case I have a number of games running to compare so one would think that, according to the calculation Tiffany offered, I should have been lucky at least once, but no. Across all my games the story is identical: before the patch I was having a normal amount of luck; after the patch, none at all - for every game (one newish at lvl 63 and another at 185 for the other extreme - the drop rates for starting out are meant to be higher than for those well advanced through the game). Even the event girls aren't dropping and they normally drop more readily than troll girls (as was the case for me before the patch). Actually, I was just curious rather than angry because I have enough on my hands just maintaining my harem and upgrading the girls I already have than getting more at the moment. Oddly enough, I'm not that looking forward to getting Loving Arcana in 4 days because she'll cost me a lot to upgrade and I'm already committed to upgrading Samane's affection. Also, with the arena battle changes, I have had to pay a lot more attention to my beta and omega girls and this is beginning to pay off. The exception for me is usually against charm opponents with Abraël on max affection and Flight Attendant as beta - with these two in his team, an opponent will remain unbeatable for me as I am know-how; that is, until I max out Samane's affection and I'm glad to say this may not be too long. This is the fun aspect of the changes, but the system of calculating bonuses and mojo is arcane to me and beyond my understanding. The randomness aspect of putting up the three opponents for selection has extended to rank now so there seems to be a move towards joining up groups of rankings for the Tower of Fame and this may not be fair to new players who are interested in featuring in it. It remains to be seen. I only play the arena for a little extra cash, XP or goodies, not to compete in the Tower of Fame. The half hour refresh time for the three new choices is an anathema to me and it's especially galling that we may not get the chance in a timely manner to try again against an opponent who beat us only because of luck (critical damage). Ten minutes would have been more encouragement for us to resume battling in the arena than every half an hour. The other rather perverse aspect of not getting girls is that, in my battles against Finalmecia, I have levelled her up to the point where I earn more from her using two combativity units than I would have from the two I used per battle before the update. Once I get to 1 1/2 times the previous average income for every two battles, I will be on parity with what I earned before based on time of recharge for each unit being 30min and not 20min. The long and short of it is that income from battles against her is earning me a steady income, plus the chance to still win Salem and Edna, and I'll be able to upgrade Samane's final affection more easily. I expect, however, Finalmecia's battle stats will become more competitive as she levels up. Already her chances to inflict critical damage against me is the same as mine, but her attack power is not enough to have much impact - yet. The other really generous thing HH have done is to offer us many more epic gift items in the daily missions - once gifts (usually no more than rare items) were limited for players at level 101 or less, but now this limit has been removed and we get fewer of the useless equipment items (usually in a specialty battle stat that is no use to us). Furthermore, as one's level goes up, so do the cash rewards for completing daily mission tasks. Some now exceed 20,000 and this is most welcome. Also, legendary knickers (VERY valuable!) are available more often in the store. Once they were exceedingly rare.
  19. I should add, that even with this hook, line and drawcard for me, if drops were to virtually dry up, I would quickly lose interest in the game, but it would be a wrench - like breaking up with the hottest and sexiest girlfriend ever with only memories to sustain me. I must be pretty sad and pathetic, eh! It's only a damn game!
  20. I'm sure this image would show quite vividly what I mean. This event has passed so it's not a spoiler. Surely it's not, and every player would have seen something like it.
  21. No they sure didn't say how, did they. I believe as you now do it seems, that they adjusted the drop rate to supposedly even out the chances of getting a drop because we now have 1 1/2 times the opportunities to battle per hour than we did before. Trouble is, if they did that they are promulgating a myth. Changing the drop rate changes our chances of getting a drop... full stop, no matter how many more opportunities we get to try our luck!! I'll explain... The drop rate is set as a statistical probability and is randomised, which means the chance of getting a girl at each battle remains the same regardless of how many opportunities you get to try your luck because the system resets to the base probability every time you do battle. It's a hard concept to grasp, but it's true. If people understood it more, there would be far fewer problem gamblers and less addiction among people trying their luck. Online gambling games (of which this game is one to some extent) tend to alter the probability of success downwards as people progress through the game. Stage one is encouragement by some early successes (and we've all seen that with this game). Stage two is the carrot of hope that one's luck will be as before ("If I play it more often I must win some time"). Stage 3 is "I'm hooked". "I haven't had a win for ages so it must be just around the corner. I must be THAT close!" In my case, what has hooked me is none of these. Mine has been how the drops occur: the black shadowy silhouette of the girl receding from the right of the screen to merge with the actual figure just to the left of centre. To me it's spectacular and thrilling - I don't mind admitting it - and the anticipation of who the girl will be remains almost to the end. I'm sure I must be the only one who has reacted in this way, but this, combined with the rarity of drops actually occurring, means I never ever get tired of it.
  22. Depends on what you mean by luck. Is she your only drop since the patch on Wednesday or have you had others? Even if the probability has been cut, someone has to score some time. Anyway, you must be new to the forum if you're listed as a newbie and on Plain of Rituals. If so, welcome! Oh, and well done getting Edna. Her payout is crap, but her hardcore battle stats are great.
  23. No it doesn't, but it's very suspicious. I've never had such a dramatic change in fortune with a patch upgrade since I started playing (not this account) nearly 7 months ago now. Other players have reported the same. My own fortunes have always been patchy, usually event to event, but nothing like this halfway through an event. I don't think we're ever going to know the truth. The developers did notify that they have adjusted the drop rate in some aspects of the game supposedly to make it fairer for those who have been in the game a long time, but it might have had the opposite effect across the board. I have a game where I'm level 184 and one where I'm level 63 (and some in between) - this account I'm at 163. Right across them the story is identical: not one drop since the patch.
  24. If you're not at the Juy Sea yet, you have a rude shock ahead. As well as waiting for your energy to regenerate to advance the story like a soap opera episode, you have to spend money (and lots of it!!) every third or fourth scene just to advance through some of the quests. The worst quest in this extortionate world is 'A Glutton's Tears' followed by 'A Virgin on the Ocean'. Other worlds require your money to advance the quests from time to time, but never as often or as much to pay. I'm at the Juy Sea for one of my games and I just let it sit there not advancing because I had other priorities, like upgrading my girls' affection and XP levels. The last major upgrade was when they did away with the full energy recharge for every level up, replacing it with a restocking of the store. However, every tenth (I think) level up, your energy would be recharged instead so they retained it a little. You can fiddle the shop restocking though... When you are just about to gain a new level (you can check it by hovering over the XP level circle along the top), if you have only just had a restocking because the normal 8 hours had elapsed then clear out what you want (money permitting), say books and gifts, and it'll restock again as soon as you exceed the remaining XP needed to level up. That way you get two restockings for the price of one in terms of time. The best place to plan this is in the daily missions when you'll know what XP you'll get for completing each of the tasks.
  25. As soon as this game heads towards the 'loot box' approach of many online gambling games I'm outta here! These are potentially extremely dangerous psychologically, financially, to one's family members and to the wider community and I had warned HH not to go down this route. Once there is a certain tipping point of players, there might be a big temptation for HH to alter the game to encourage players to use their credit cards to purchase kobans for more turns, Epic Pachinko and to restock the shop, and to become patreons. Other online games with a gambling component have done just that. Initially, in these games, it is encouragingly easy to win items, but they become harder and harder unless and until we purchase the next great 'must-have'. The other rather unscrupulous thing that the gaming businesses peddle is the myth that increasing the number of turns we have to win something somehow increases our chances of success. It doesn't. The chance each play is dependent on the probability percentage that is designed into the game and this is reset at each play. There is no counter telling the program that we have played X times without success, therefore it will incrementally increase our chance of winning in some grand act of generosity. HH is a business, after all, and has to make money. There would have to be a specific mathematical calculation the program makes to allow such an adjustment. HH claim that this very thing has just been introduced in this latest patch, but I remain sceptical. At least with HH we know that as we acquire more girls the drop rate falls and upgrading them becomes incrementally more expensive for each girl as they are added to our harems. They've been upfront with us about that. What we don't know are the details of the drop rates, the actual probability of drops (in percentage) and how this changes as the game progresses. I'm not sure they would ever tell us that since they would see it as a spoiler. Now we have a truly arcane system for arena battles that most of us probably wouldn't have a hope of understanding; I sure don't! I detest the almost compulsory aspect to the choice of opponents in the arena, especially the fact that opponents no longer reflect our rank and seem more randomly selected, mostly not in our favour. The 30 minute refresh time to battle new opponents is pointless, other than the fact that there is no longer any other fixed or variable constraint for these battles (ie, no expenditure of combativity and recharge rate for that). If we lose against an opponent, why can't we choose to battle him again straight away, especially if we lost because of bad luck from critical damage? How many of us have had this happen!? It would be better, too, if the refresh was every 10 minutes with unlimited opportunities to battle opponents against whom we lost. However, to give credit where it's due, some changes have been generous... (1) In the daily missions, there are many more gift items as rewards, even above the lvl 101 threshold (even money rewards have doubled for those at higher levels). Furthermore, some of these items are epic items and I even had the odd legendary item offered. There also seem to be more legendary gift items dropped in Epic Pachinko, as I found in the last two hours. Once it was overwhelmingly equipment items that may or may not have been useful. (2) the epic books are not horrendously expensive to buy and they allow us to level up new girls' XP relatively quickly, useful if that new girl is a potential alpha or beta girl. (3) Although many of us (me included) have been moaning about the loss rate in arena battles, a few rounds of Epic Pachinko and drops of valuable equipment (especially multiple-valued legendary items), girls and gifts should help a whole lot, especially for players starting out (up to level 80 and past the extortionate Juy Sea anyway). The other thing about this is that the arena battles make us think hard about how we can improve our teams, especially giving a lot more importance to beta and omega girls who can contribute mightily to the game at the first and second orgasms (the usual situation in close-fought battles). On many occasions I have snatched victory from the jaws of certain defeat because my beta and omega girls have been better than my opponents'. Re. critical damage, there is little we can do about this as a lucky killer blow against us by an opponent is a random thing, which is why we ought to be given the chance straight away to battle those opponents who beat us in this way. I can't think of any equipment upgrade we could do to counter this, other than to raise our own critical damage percentages with the right equipment and boosters. I was trounced on three occasions now against opponents I should have beaten easily (and would normally have done so), even at 25% critical damage stats. Sustaining critical damage seems to be a lot more common now than before, lending weight to my contention that we ought to be able to try again against evenly or lower matched opponents who have beaten us. We have every chance of beating him the second time.
