same manipulation can be necessary to complete other missions, since sometimes effect of lagged mission can return (at least it was so for me)

Problem with inability to take another daily mission could be solved by logging out/in

it's not just that mission is impossible to claim reward as you started it, it also showed that other missions are available to start, but pressing accept do nothing
