I got the same issue. I am level 124 the girl was on level 30. Girls levels are limited to be the same or less than the characters. no she wasn't, also that question is irrelevant since after the girl reaches the player lvl you can't give her any more books. since it wasn't that big of a deal I dismissed it, it might have been my mistake selling instead of using the book since the buttons are close together... missclick is my guess since it didn't happened again since.
