I'm afraid there is no fast rapid way to gain currency other than the bundles and other shop stuff. Just keep doing everything that you can when it is available arena, tower of fame, activity missions etc. Sell anything that you don't need, get as many recruits as you can using the combativity vs villains (focusing on one your highest shard amount character each time) and doing special events. Try and get up to the top of as many tables as you can contests, tower of fame etc as these all have better rewards the higher you are and can be done even with new players.
