Event missions are (barring rare exceptions) the only missions you can get gold from. If you mean missions in general... Once you complete the storyline they'll be your main source of XPs in order to level up more, and earn a little cash and some items on the side. Plus some extra kobans if you clear the entire list, of course.

And that's basically it, to my understanding. Whether you feel they're useful or not is entirely up to you, though you need your stats up to a certain level to beat bosses further down the line.

@Dragon1516, you seem to be asking a question, so I've moved your topic to the Q&A part of the forum, try to ask questions here in the future.

The missions are done to give you rewards. Sometimes that's equipment, sometimes it's affection items, mostly it's just cash. During events we also get an extra mission that rewards us Kobans, the premium currency. You can also get more kobans each day by completing ALL of your daily missions.

All but the event mission also give exp as Makinen said. This will help you level up, and the higher level you are the stronger you will be (on average), and you'll also gain more money from your daily missions so you can buy upgrades to your girls affection easier.
