Interesting. It almost sounds like someone was fired for coming up with dating tokens, but who knows? It's just interesting he talked about people being fired in response to your argument.

What is happening reminds me of a scene in 'The Wire' where the drug dealers are talking about diluting the product and basically saying "these junkies will take what we give them" ... "The product gets worse, and we make more". If feels like that is how the players are being treated, like addicts who will just take any sort of abuse and keep coming back for more. Even if that seems like an extreme analogy, it still all feels very cynical what is happening now with this game, and people play games to escape from real life, but that cynicism is now infecting the game experience at a high degree.

This game seems really broken at this point. Like everyone has said, none of these nerfs effect high level players. But for low and mid level players the game has now become a ridiculous grind. I'm not enjoying it any more and I haven't even been playing for very long. I'm really only playing out of compulsion now. I know there are many other players who feel like this.

It looks like a panic shutdown. The energy got screwed up so they were obviously fiddling with something and then all of a sudden shut it down.

I think what you are referring to is envy. A concept as old as dirt. Is likely to occur in a system where great value is placed on possessing things. It is a typical [*cough*boomer*cough*] behavior to aggressively defend a system that expertly and deliberately breeds envy, but constantly lecture chastise those who feel envy within that system.
