  1. I think this is probably one of the best decisions Kinkoid could have made, given all the salt over the previous three events. If they hadn't done this, everyone would be griping about how people with legendaries are dominating the arenas and how there wasn't enough time to prepare. Now, people are griping over it being too soon. Damned if you do... Ideally, the thing to do would have been to execute the first events better. But there's no such thing as time travel. Given what already happened, I think this revival is fine.
  2. So, to take your example, again, we can ignore most of these numbers, such as the A/B/O stats (so I've omitted them). You're both Shaggers (HC), so start with HC defense, low end. He's got a weak 949 to your 2392 - a 1400-point advantage to you, roughly. So add that to your attack low end of 5463 to get 6800. Compare to his 6925. He's still got about 100 points on you. That might be worth adding another sigfig to the math, so 1450 to your 5463 again for 6913. Suuuper close. Your hits will be about equal. And you've got about 1000 more ego for him to overcome. Moreover, with 35.31% to 12.69%, if a crit happens, it'll be almost three times as likely to be yours, so this looks like a near certain win for you. -- Btw, the reason you disregard the upper end of the ranges is that those numbers reflect your beta and omega joining the fight, which only happens if your alpha and beta crit, respectively. Which could certainly happen, but it's going to be wild - on average, it'll take 2-3 hits before your beta kicks in, and the extra boost you get will often not be enough to make the difference. (What makes the difference will more likely be the fact that you crit at all, which is why crit% can matter.)
  3. From experience, I can tell you that the most important stats are ego, each player's primary stat (KH, HC, Charm), and each player's defense against the other player's primary. Harmony is a wild card that could break a tie, or even overcome a slight disadvantage. For example, here are my stats, as they appear in my arena box when I'm not fighting, And, through the magic of photoshopping, a challenger: (This is something I'll see plenty of at my level - someone with much lower defense scores and a much higher attack.) First thing: you can ignore the actual KH / HC / Charm scores, and which girls they use. They don't matter at this point (so I left out girls). All you care about is your opponent's final attack / defense / crit. In fact, you don't even care about the range on attack / defense (mostly); you just care about the lower number. In my example above, I'm Charm, and my opponent is obviously HC. So another thing I can ignore is his defense against anything other than Charm - that 4461 in the middle of his box is the only one. Likewise, I can ignore all my defense scores except vs. HC. If I subtract his Charm defense from my (lower) attack, it's 23602 - 4461, or 19141. If I subtract my HC defense from his attack, I get 25710 - 5219 = 20491. And if I go ahead with this fight, those are exactly the numbers I'll see flashing at the top (assuming no crits) - I'll hit his ego for 19141 each time, while he hits mine for 20491. I've got a 6k ego edge over him, but he'll eat through that in 6 hits, and that's about how long a fight lasts. The spoiler is crit. On a real screen, you'll also see a percentage to the side of the Harmony score. That's important, because it factors in the bonus or penalty you get for facing a different school. That means you can ignore both Harmony scores. Just look at the percentage. Above, he'll probably have a crit edge on me, since he's HC and I'm Charm - just guessing, it'll probably be around 28% to my 22%. If so, he'll probably have a further edge on me. I'll probably pass on this fight unless I get 24+ mojo for winning. Normally, when assessing a fight, I find the difference between our defenses, and I just eyeball it - looks like I've got about 800 on him - then add that to my attack to get about 24400, and compare to his 25710 to see he's got about 1300 points of advantage over me. Which is close enough to the numbers above.
  4. More money! I'm approaching my personal one year anniversary with this game, after which I also expect a lot of money farming while the newer players scramble for events. I'm already finishing early enough to buy additional affection poses. It doesn't matter that they'll take years to pay for themselves; I can afford them. It also lets me unlock the birth dates, which is important in my art thread. (Yes, I know, I could just get it off the wiki, but that's less fun.) So, newer players, don't sweat cash too much; it gets better after a while.
  5. It used to be pointless. Now you can get weekly prizes for it. (I already put girls in beta and omega slots to level up their xp and aff.)
  6. I am, not, not, not ever going to criticize this game for there being "too many girls", or "too many events", which implies the same thing. The alternative is simply too terrible to contemplate. In other news: 212 tries on Donatien so far. I got Lola, but no Marina yet. Arena's settling into another noticeable pattern. I've been tracking who my opponents are. A lot of the time, they're either players I've never seen before, or known easy targets. That leaves a few dozen I keep seeing that are around my level, or higher. So I track their stats. Biggest difference I've been seeing for the ones I never touch are that they have either legendary 5* alphas, 2-5 legendary items, or both. Usually both. I track the total level count for them, too. I ignore the epics; I assume they're generally keeping up. Legendaries are harder, though, and they make the difference. I keep hoping to see them pop up in my market. Got one just the other day, but it was an all-stats. I bought it anyway - I tend to equip one of those at all times just to keep my harmony and ego reasonable - but I really want a charm item, and they're not coming. Worse: charm epics aren't appearing either. They're always hybrids at best. The worst is when one finally pops... and it's the chest. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
  7. I wouldn't call it a trend just yet. It's only been for two events so far. I hope it's a trend, though... Also, it's probably wise to spread around which school gets the epic. For Retro, it was charm (Oxton). For this, it's KH.
  8. You know, it's times like this that I'm really glad that I have my art thread to cheer me up.

Ohh, Juliette... seems we've been celebrating your birthday every few days... still, I humor her. Just something about her... Anyway, this day was special, as she decided to indulge her archaeology hobby with a... statue? She claims they're replicas from the terracotta army of the ancient emperor Qin Qi Hwang. She also says you can tell it was a general, from the size. Like, I dunno. Why is it nekkid? I guess I've seen weirder things in this world.
  10. Lola: "shinigamis" > "shinigami" (the plural form is the same as the singular) "alchol" > "alcohol" Samane: "shinigamis" > "shinigami" (forgot to mention this earlier)
  11. Dunno. I don't have her unlocked, and I want to avoid situations where I do corrections based off the wiki which turn out to be transcription errors from the game.
  12. I noticed this, too. I can't really bother slogging through that thread again to check, but I wonder if the people complaining about early revival are the same ones who were complaining like crazy about getting no drops on the first one. Probably not. I'm guessing the latter group haven't gotten around to looking at this yet. I got every legendary except the third, which happened to be my school, but that's kinda because I waited so long that I couldn't spend all the kobans I'd decided I was willing to in order to get enough refills to boost my chances. I'm grateful for another chance so soon, if that's what it turns out to be. If it's just random other legendaries, that's cool too. Also gives me an excuse to not do a new picture in my art thread for the event, and instead build more models.
  13. First drop of the morning! One boss girl left on Donatien! (Still no Tanned Marina, but event's still young.) Boss - level 233 - 68 girls - Donatien (level 71) - 108 battles - 16 boss girls - Lola
  14. ...whyyyyy are we going skiing in the summer...
  15. Haven't seen it said yet, so I will: thrilled to see yet another epic girl available as an event drop. KH this time, so... uh oh. Guess I'll have that to contend with in arena. Good thing I have Oxton.

So, a sweep of the room revealed a bug on the stairs. I got Arcana to give me a bug-eyes spell to see what it saw. Handy little trick. I hope she doesn't find out why I asked. Not a great angle, in my opinion, but... hmm. Never noticed that hiding there...

The baseline reference I use for every girl is their affection poses, and occasionally their story scenes. I literally load the poses in a paint program and sample the colors to get matching shades in 3D. Then comes about 30-60 minutes of tweaking all the body settings until I feel satisfied that I've captured her appearance. It's never perfect. The catch is that sometimes the girl's shape changes between poses. My favorite example right now is Arcana. In her base poses, she's what I'd call a C-cup; but her Loving Arcana version looks like a D. Another is Bunny; if you classify her poses as going from 0-star to 5-star, I'd say she jumped at least half a cup size between 2 and 3. So I have to pick a size somewhere in there. Another thing I notice is that the artist draws women a touch on the hip-py side. Consider Loving Bunny again - specifically, her 2-star pose, with the nightie, the one you see in front of the calendar of events Kinkoid publishes. Dem hips! I love that pose, by the way. But if you think 3D Bunny's breasts are perhaps a bit on the small side, it might be because I made her hips a bit large to match. The tool I use might play a role in it, too. One thing I noticed right off: it likes to place breasts higher than they often are in the art. I can fudge that by making them floppier (the tool has a setting for firmness, no joke, the difference is noticeable when dragging them around), but that leads to other weirdness, so I try to go easy on it, and just set the breast height to as low a setting as the tool will allow. It also has a "realistic" look and feel, as opposed to other Illusion editors such as Koikatsu, which is a cel-shaded tool and more suited to waifs. (It's also close enough to jailbait that I'll likely never use it. Seriously, Kimie's a challenge for me to keep her out of creepy territory.) That realistic feel also means I can't capture the face perfectly. That's especially hard when the face itself changes (again, Arcana is a prime example). So I use a fair bit of creative license there. The tool does support larger breast size. (MUCH larger if I use a certain mod.) You'll see larger when I get around to Salem, Robin, Louise Carrot, Kelina, and maybe a couple others. So there - much more than you wanted to know. But that's cool; I enjoy geeking out about this, and discussing whether I might tweak body settings here or there. Meanwhile, a lot of the fun comes from the story behind them; I swear, as much of their sex appeal comes from their hobbies and personalities as from their figures...
  18. Personally, I can hardly wait until I get around to making Louise's 3D model.
  19. Likewise. I'm up to 30 tries with no drop, but geez, it hasn't even been 24 hours yet, in a 14-day event... past experience suggests I'll be done and back to farming Final and Roko in about a week.

I see it in anime all the time! I assume it's so they can show off the girl larger... @Habi : depends on where you work. Thanks so much for the compliment! I could probably check whether I had another camera around when Solveig made her move, but it'll have to wait for some RL errands. Plus, there's another girl's birthday coming up, and I have to prep for it. You can probably guess who it is.

By the way - dunno if anyone's noticed, but I plan to keep putting out shots for each girl I have done, on their birthday, and it'll be wallpaper size. In Tina's case, I deliberately went for a composition fitting for a desktop. I did, however, take a few extra shots, including one from the front...
  22. It's Red Battler's birthday. You know what that means... Kinda miffed that I forgot exactly when the event ended, and so I missed my chance to refill my way to a hopefully second epic girl. Still, I'm really happy with that event, and I hope Kinkoid does another one really soon! Arena's going well, too. Especially now that I have 5* Metal Noemy. Now if only the market would give me some decent purples...

For Tina's birthday, we naturally went to her favorite spot: the gym. As usual, she was pretty shy until she got into the ring, assumed her persona of Red Battler, and went a few rounds with her sparring partners. After that, she had no problem with me getting a shot of her cooling off a little in the locker room.
