Why the heck, is there still censorship in Japan?

Hi! :D

I've created this thread to talk about this particular that still exists in Japan, which, I don't understand.

I know that censorship in both pornography and hentai are given because this is dictated by its Constitution.

But, truth be told, I believe that this law, beyond the culture of Japan, which I love and certainly would like to visit, seems to me totally anachronistic, today. :S

I believe that in that, and many other aspects, such as harassing women, they should move forward and be renewed. (Yes, I know that the issue of harassing happens everywhere, but in Japan, as far as I know, it's more common than it should be). :(

That's where the greatness of any country or person is found, advancing and renewing itself.

I apologize if there is any grammatical mistake, English isn't my native language.

Regards.

the Japanese are a very religious people, by censoring certain things, they feel they are raising good moral citizens to will go out into the world and do good,

In my humble opinion, I believe that religion has nothing to do. If it is for religious censorship, look at the muslims, that is real censorship. With this I say, of course, I do not want to offend anyone, but the reality is what it is.

In short, in genres of anime there are real atrocities, such as the genre Guro, which I will save of putting any image, because it is a very hardcore genre to see. I think with saying that it unites the extreme gore with the hentai, it's enough. And yet, that does not usually censor.

It would be a mistake to generalize, but I think some things are somewhat hypocritical and some are not. Well, more than themselves, their Constitution, which they should review.

And the fact of they being kind and other things, is given by his almost innate politeness. The Japanese usually always put their neighbors ahead of themselves.

Regards, Vanart.

Shinto and Buddhism are Japan's two major religions. Shinto is as old as the Japanese culture, while Buddhism was imported from the mainland in the 6th century. While only 40% of Japanese people say they belong to an organized religion 35% of that is Buddhism, as they do put their neighbors ahead of most of themselves, I do not understand what that has to do with your question, I will say a lot of both hentai and real world porn is brutal, thir are lots of really bad real life porn topics they do as well, I mean you can get worse drawing insead of real life, but that gets bad as I said

I don't dispute that. There are worse things, of course. But if we are where we are now, it is for having advanced, and leaving things behind that now seem archaic and short-sighted.

Imagine, I don't know, that Christians were still burning women at the stake because they thought they were witches or people who were left-handed.

What I am trying to say is that we are no longer in those years, both what I have said now, and the main discussion of the thread. The same thing that seems to me archaic the example that I put you, I still seem as archaic censorship, because, why censure something that is totally natural?  (I refer to the human body, of course, and in both areas, conventional pornography and hentai).

you think Christians don't still so that?  They may have stopped the burning, but you don't have to go far ot meet one of the most closed minded and prejudiced religions and organizations to ever exist, went ot catholic school, and was left handed and I could tell you stories and it was only a handful of years ago, but your point is made, why censor the natural?

If that you say continues to happen, I really do not know, since I consider myself agnostic, (although I have always respected who believes), although if you say I suppose it will be true, that discrimination, I would think it is the stupidest thing in the Earth, and they would deserve everything bad that could happen to them.

And, yes, I know it sounded hard, but it's just as I think and feel it.

although I respect your opinion I disagree with it.  My feeling is no one deserves the bad things that happen to them, A left handed child doesn't deserve to be beaten on the hand with a ruler until he learns to write with his right hand, just because the Church has deemed left handed people as agents of the devil, he doesn't deserve to have bleeding knuckles for that.

I think we've misunderstood both, more for my part than for yours, since my native language is Spanish. I didn't mean that a child should suffer this kind of humiliation. When I said, that they deserved all the bad things that happened to them, I meant those who make them feel bad, simply because the child is left-handed, lame, or whatever.

I apologize for that.

If by me, hell with all religions. Those that were and will be. Except, precisely, Buddhism and Shinto, which Vanart mentioned, because more than religions, are lifestyles.

I believe that religions have brought more harm than good to our History. If not, remember the Crusades, the conquest of the Iberian Peninsula, which by the way, is where I live, and the later reconquest, or more recent, 11S, 11M or IS.

every religion has a dark side, and has committed atrocities against other people, the same could be said for governments, its people following something blindly without question that does the harm in my opinion

That's so true too that it hurts.

There is nothing more to see North Korea, who, its leader has its own repressed country, that was able to kill its own brother, or United States, that have a populist, narcissistic, and xenophobic president, and that to me seem the sense of State and empathy has it in the ass, frankly.

How easy it's to get along with people and not the other way around. I've always considered myself a citizen of the world, but these things make me sometimes stop believing in that.

Fine. I'll post the link for you. It's a interview with Steven Pinker, the canadian scientist. Here you are: http://www.elmundo.es/opinion/2017/10/23/59ecfff846163f60648b465c.html

It's about the last thing I said, the populisms, religions and so on. Highly recommend. :D

PS: By the way, if you don't understand something, let me know, and I'll try to translate it for you.

HAHAHAHA!  I'm glad you enjoyed it. :DB|

Sense and optimism is the only thing we can hold on to now that it seems to have become fashionable to be nationalist and retrograde. Believe me, I know what I'm talking about because it's happening in my country and in the UK. And in France almost the same thing happens with the FN of Le Pen. :(

The worst thing is that we're in the era of fake news and it's easier for people to create a baseless fallacy that matches their ideals than the opposite. -_-

And above all, the lies that lately surround what happens in my country (I set it example, because it's what I know best, not so with Brexit, for example), foreign media are usually believed 'cause there are an immense campaign in favor of something that from the beginning is illegal because it dictates our Constitution. And that videos that I'm tired of seeing on the news and everywhere are super manipulated. ¬¬

Exactly!!!!  Super Manipulated is right!  So much so:

In USA, when Trump was preparing his campaign, he built his whole deal on the Birther movement:  People who say Obama is born in Kenya.

Complete BS.  The entire congress votes on this:  535 to 0.  Not one vote for Trump.

But, the press would not come out and say "Trump you are wrong and an idiot.  Obama was born in Hawaii."
Not one of them said anything close.  Like you, I just make an example.

What did you think of his concept "Blue Lies"????   We want to (and do) long to hear little blue lies!!!----

Do you have any more articles like this one??  If so, please post.

At the moment, no, but if I see anything interesting, I'll post here, don't worry. ;)

Regards, Brassy.

PS: What I really have is various videos talking about that how much the news is being manipulated about what is happening in my country, which is nothing more than a reflection of what is happening internationally. If you're insterested, let me know.
