It just redirects to the buyer's bank immediately. I think it's similar to Sofort/Klarna, but I cannot be sure about that. I know that Nutaku has iDeal as payment option. I was getting charged +100% for currency conversion and processing (credit card from CDN$). The whole reason I bought the card was to try and support the game. If half is going to some payment processor I am out. The same thing applies to the bundles. I would probably have purchased 2 by now but the surcharge put me off.
