  1. I see...so pretty much what I did previous league...rushed it before the switch to the current blessings. And, well...it was very much worth the nuban price given how much I got back for the first place Not sure whether to call it strategy, or not, but...anything you can do that many people don't care enough to is a way to get ahead ^^ My math for skipping Matcha setups would likely be very different from yours, because of how ridiculously bad the current blessings are for me - I don't have Matcha, Nike and Jezebel. So I'm at quite the disadvantage here. Speaking of Jezebel...I'm ABSOLUTELY certain I should have her. As she was one of the very few cases where I managed to get 100 shards in a single day (day 2 of the contest), so...I remember it (also I don't just randomly skip on legendary contests). Usually I just go for 4 x 25 shards as that's by far the cheapest way to do it and be left with saved up resources to grab extra nubans from other daily contests. Unless there's a good opportunity to get more shards without overspending too much. Anyway...I only have the 25 Jezebel shards I got the first day. Sent a ticket about it 10 days ago with no reply. Any idea how long it usually takes to get a response?
  2. Yea, there are of course other things playing a role in the end results...was just focusing on the part of things that's been treating me worse than I'd expect it to As for Matcha, I've been avoiding everyone who has her...waiting for the blessings change with hope that I'll get to see them unboosted again. A bit of a dice roll perhaps, but...oh, well...^^ Oh, what strategy are you trying this week, blaa? Toying with booster combinations, or something more revolutionary than that?
  3. Yes, as the bunch of numbers said, that's what it is...or supposed to be anyway. In the current system, 30% crit chance is split between the two opponents based on their respective harmony stat. That's the info we got from kinkoid anyway. Whether that's truly all there is to it or not is hard to be certain of. The kinkoid team doesn't exactly have a history of sharing the details of their games' mechanics and most of the inner workings we have available are a result of "reverse engineering" from collected numbers and a bit of guesstimating. On top of that there's always the spaghetti problem and random wild bugs commonly appearing after patch days. So, for holymolly's question...yes...I'm experiencing the same thing. I've been collecting data on crits since BDSM release, because it felt to me the opponents are criting too often. And the numbers support that...with a small difference from what would be expected based on the 30% split by harmony for rainbow builds and a somewhat bigger difference for glass cannons. But this league (and possibly Wednesday patch day too, but I only got a few people left, so didn't have any "sample" worth mentioning) it's been way worse for me. The amount of crits I'm eating is ridiculous. Not sure whether something changed (intentionally or otherwise), or RNG decided to go extra heavy on he R tho. Too early to tell...not enough numbers...
  4. Yay, first win with the new system! ^^ Also the highest average I've ever had. Which is honestly kinda surprising...with how rare 24 and 25 scores are without CH/KH blocks and heals I initially expected overall scores to be lower across the board for pretty much everyone except perhaps the highest level players. But low scores in matches are also proving to be rarer than they used to be. Catching people unboosted makes more of a difference than it used to, so that may be part of the reason. Also I'm seeing WAY too many people in D3 with really bad setups. Including very high levels. So that also gives some extra points. Hello there, DXKing ^^ Oh, also...always wanted to be HC, but "couldn't", because too weak. Now that it doesn't matter I was just waiting to have gear immediately available with better total stats than what I had on for CH. HC just kinda suits me better for...reasons and such...
  5. Speaking of fucking things up... Something odd happened with my league. Used to be 103 people. Now it's only 102. I finished fighting the visible ones today, but it's still showing me the blue exclamation mark symbol over Tower of Fame in the main screen as if there were available fights. Not sure what to make of it. And I hope I will not be missing 3 matches in comparison to others...that would be quite the disadvantage Did that happen to anyone else?
  6. Hmmm, actually managed to keep myself around my previous system's average most of the week (22.47). Ended up with 22.36 after dealing with the three perma boosters at the end. Didn't lose any fights tho, which is nice...all the XP! ^^ Now we just gotta hope the max lvl is not gonna get increased anytime soon so we can catch up to the folk who place ahead of us just because of lvl advantage...so we can end up destroyed by those who are behind us because of our lvl advantage instead...:D And seems like I'll need to rush this week's league...catch as many people as possible in the first half. Because I don't have Matcha. And Nike.
  7. Yea, RNG is definitely more out there with the new system. I'm starting to wonder if perhaps there's a fixed crit chance for the defenders - from what I've been writing down over the past couple weeks, glass cannons don't crit into me significantly less often than balanced builds. Also...22,32 may have been a lower average in the old system, but not really in the new one. The lack of healing from KH and blocking from CH makes 25 point fights almost impossible and 24 very rare, pushing the average down for pretty much everyone.
  8. Same here...3rd, but didn't catch the screenshot. Last time I saw it, I was second and sliqguy (492lvl) was first. Not sure who jumped me, but if I were to guess, I'd say probably Drew, or schorschinho (both in the 480-ish area)
  9. Yea, that one was close I wonder how much of a role the scoring switch played for us and the league as a whole. Either way, I remember you being a 100 or so points behind me, bla and other similar lvl tryhards Nice to see you moving up in the world ^^
  10. Ummm...what? That's some incredibly convoluted wording. <insert Godzilla stroke meme here> But I think I know what point you are trying to make. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. Are you saying that with the previous system it was possible to get more wins without getting to top 15 and therefore getting promoted to a higher league? If that is the case, I'll have to disagree. With the current scoring, being able to win with the minimum amount of points per win will allow you to stay behind more people who got the same amount of wins as you do if you can optimize around it better than them. And even if what you said were correct, it would absolutely not be "worse for the overall playerbase of the game". It would be better for those players who are cheesing the system and worse for those who are actually trying to compete...which is the point of the whole league thing. Also...if it is XP you want, holding back is not the way to go. The higher league you can get to, the more XP you can get per fight on average. If you already have to hold back a lot and miss several fights just to keep yourself from advancing, chances are you'd get more XP in the higher league.
  11. Seriously?! They changed the scoring mid-league? Come on.... Eh, not like it's actually surprising, or anything. Oh, well...at least it is changed. It's something. An improvement for...the next week
  12. I was watching things change as I was buying market stats after a levelup. Seems like both secondary/tertiary attributes now give 0.5 harmony per point, no endurance. Not sure if that's intended. May very well be a bug. Just your everyday spaghetti stuff
  13. Others saved me quite a bit of typing here...thanks ^^ So...just a couple details on top of what has already been said about the new system indeed giving veterans and whales a larger advantage than the previous one. You didn't need 3 mythics to be competitive in the old system. One was enough. Because of the huge excitement needs, a mythic was in the overwhelming majority of cases not optimal for the Alpha position. You'd want to keep a 5* there. And Omega rarely had any meaningful impact on the match. So you only really needed a mythic in the Beta position. Where you could get more effect from 3 was defense. Because of the 1 crit limit for defenders, you could forego a large part of harmony for defending, slap in 3 mythics (or 2 for alpha and beta at least) and put on enough mono-stat items to get an orgasm on turn three. That made people suffer when attacking you. But you'd still need to permaboost, or close enough to actually leave any meaningful dent in strong player attackers and get a turn three orgasm. Most of the good ones would wait for you to unboost. So the only time when more than one mythic made a meaningful difference was if you used different team and different gear for defending and also were permaboosting. And even that difference was just a couple points (as opposed to just permaboosting...which also didn't give you that much unless you were the highest lvl where you had a big advantage regardless) Another thing that makes the new system favor high lvls more than the old one is that the total stats you get from girls now is higher than it was before. And therefore the stats you get from them for each levelup is also higher. Then there's the simple fact that it's not just the mythics that veterans and whales have more than others, but girls in general. So even if no mythics appear in the top spots for a given set of blessings, vets and whales are more likely to have the optimal team available than other players. And that's for now. More bonuses are to be implemented. Some of which calculate from your entire harem, not just the team of seven. That again favors vets and whales. Hard to tell about the other part of the things that are yet to be implemented. We'll see. And hope that the currency for improving girls' bonuses is not available for real money which would give whales another advantage. But...I'm not holding my breath.
  14. A got a bit of "data" that may help. Got the same feeling as you do, so I started writing some things down. Since I started taking notes, I haven't had a single game where I crit more than 2 times. And even those are fairly rare...even against glass cannons it's not very common. On the other hand, I've had quite a few games where the opponent crits 3 or more times. Including two games where the opponent crits every single time (I'm not glass cannon) It's only a short time period I've been tracking, so it could just be some wild RNG shenanigans. And even if it's more than that, it's still technically "fair" because it would most likely be affecting everyone. Still...it would be interesting to know how exactly it works. As it might affect how valuable harmony may be.
  15. Yea, just noticed that too. I didn't actually try if it's fixed or not (I mean, that would require trying to abuse a possible bug), just noticed people saying it is fixed. So now I'm a bit uncertain. Is it the same bug, or a different one?
  16. This was one scary bracket, so I'm kinda surprise...but I won't complain Kind of amazed by Vampirash's massive lead tho. The bug is gone and the number is possible to reach with 303 fights, so it should be legit. And being a very high level is a massive advantage in the new system. So I should be more surprised by Nolan than Vampirash
  17. The math looks solid ^^ I'd just have one tiny objection and one actually meaningful adjustment. The objection is that most games last longer than 6/5 hits. So I'd use 7/6 or 8/7 for the purposes of the calculation. But you are very high level, so...perhaps destroying our noobie asses only takes you 6 hits The adjustment - In your 6/5 scenario, the 6th hit ends the game regardless of whether you crit, or not. So a crit there has no effect on the outcome and is therefore irrelevant. So I'd calculate with only the rolls that matter - 5 opportunities for crit on both sides instead of 5 and 6. Thanks for the little wall of text anyway...been meaning to do several calculations on various things during the weekend. You just saved me one ^^
  18. Yea, RNG has basically unlimited opportunities to fuck with you nowadays. Oh, nothing like losing 10 points against an unboosted glass cannon 50 lvl beneath you who barely has any harmony, but manages to land 3 crits anyway while you get none...wonderful
  19. I got the same impression - the new system makes being a higher level a lot bigger advantage than it used to be. For three reasons: 1) The combined stats of them 7 girls are higher than what you'd get from girls before. So every level for them gives more than before. 2) Higher level players generally have more girls. So a higher chance of being able to put together a perfect team for the current blessings. 3) The scoring system. Where before you would perhaps get just a point or three fewer than a high level, the difference is now easily 10 per match. The scoring system honestly baffles me. And I'm genuinely curious what thought process led to the decision to implement it. How is it in any way beneficial to the league? In what way is it better than the previous one? Maybe I'm missing something important, but I can only think of downsides.
  20. Crap...came twenty seconds late for the screenshot. Well, the last thing I saw ten minutes ago, I was on the same spot (second) with some 487 lvl whose name didn't sound familiar but I would remember if I saw again, 100 points ahead of me (low 7300s, me low 7200s). Third was TopCat a hundred or so points behind me. Can't recall the rest. Seems like I got lucky on a cheater-less league as that low 7300s score was the highest there and given the level, it's pretty believable.
  21. Decided to sit this one out...just camping on 4 ginsengs and 6* Alpha. That still ended a lot better than expected. There's a bunch of 480+ lvls off screen. But it's especially sweet to not see Kurt #1...Thanks, Pijany I'm assuming the switch to the new system messed some things up a bit. Technically my own as well as I was almost done with fights when I rolled out so couldn't really make much use of the easy 25 points. Well, not like it matters, any score here is hardly representative of what we'll be seeing in the future when the dust settles and all. Also...nice to see Boobies up here among the super high lvl monsters ^^
  22. Oh, damn...this might be the toughest league I've ever been in. Yea, no chance to get anywhere near top 4 here. At least I'll be saving cordys. Just gonna sit on 4 ginsengs and chill
  23. Things went pretty well most of the week...kept myself above 22.6 average...until I ate a bunch of losses from RustyDuck who was one of the 5 I didn't catch unboosted. 22.495 it is then. There's a couple more fairly low level players up here...names I'm not familiar with yet who may become a threat one day.
  24. Wow, 7 points. Congratulations and stuff. And here I was so happy about my numbers
