  2. I have been wondering who are the mysterious whales and where can they be found? I know in principle - they are players who spend hundreds or thousands of bucks on the game and take all the awards and the glory with huge amounts of cash. At the same time they do not care enough about the game to visit this forum - all of the members here are afraid of the whales and their deep pockets and advantages in the game (while admitting that the money they spend helps normal players like those in this forum to enjoy the game for free - or almost free). Whales have no interest in the mechanics of the game, in its development, the changes that are made. They never visit the forum, comment on anything, have anything critical to say about the game. Whatever the devs do, the whales just pay-pay-pay-pay and take all the glory anyway. Why are they doing this? How can they be so deeply uninterested in the game they are spending that much cash on? Who is a true whale? How much cash do you have to spend every month to earn the status? How many are there in a typical server - dozens, hundreds, thousands? Has at least one of them ever joined the forum and ever bothered to post a single comment about the game? Or is someone here ready to admit they are a whale? Just wondering about the mystical elusive creatures that everybody is talking about

  4. No, I have been superlucky. Got my 100 shard drop during legendary days a couple of hours into the shard system (208 fights). There have been 1,300 event fights since then without a 100 shard drop. With 0.1% one-in-a-thousand chances, I can expect around 500 more fights before I get my second full drop, so I would not be surprised if it happens at the next event in mid-April or at a revival at the end of April. Classical event - superlucky with 315 and 219 fights in February. Did not have to buy refills. Now with nearly 150 fights I already have 48 shards and can expect to get my girl with around 300 fights on the 6th day. I am not talking about epic days but about ordinary revivals. Extremely superlucky in February with 128+105 fights. In March: 212 + 54 for 21 shards. Another player's statistics: February revival 148+104, March revival 188+130 (i.e. had to buy refills because there are around 250 free fights). With each revival there are more players who discover that only needing 250 fights to get two girls is extreme luck. More typically you need around 300 fights (2 refills). When unlucky you need to buy 5+ refills.
  5. No, definitely not. You need to be lucky to get both girls for free and no refills. It's not something to expect. In my last 5-day revival I had 265 free fights and got one girl + 21 shards for another girl. I was missing around 150 free fights (3 days of fights or 6-7 refills) to get both for free. During a 12-day event you can get one girl for free for sure. The second girl is for free if you are lucky, needs a few refills if you have average luck and will be unobtainable with bad luck. About a third of the players will be lucky and get both for free, a third need a few refills, nothing major, and a third will fail at both girls or need to invest a lot into refills. Initial expectations from the system were too high and based on the few superlucky players who reported their lucky hits and fight numbers first. As the shard system continues, the trend is towards disappointment and more fights needed, not towards "oh, it's actually pretty easy".
  6. OK so $10 per month (even for 5,400 kobans) is too much and not worth it? But if you need 5,400 kobans suddenly in the game, it's more convenient to buy it for $40? What do you think of the price of kobans in those packages? Is $20 for 2,700 kobans normal, cheap, too expensive?
  7. What if kobans are increased to 3x (180 a day, 5,000 month)? Would you call it normal price then? 1 extra buck for 10x battles and league spins.
  8. Yes but the chance of that is around one in a thousand (0.1% chance), so it is not something to expect or assume or hope for. Good when it happens but there is 99.9% chance that it won't happen with your next fight.
  9. You just have to adjust your expectations. The official word is that "normally" you can get both girls with free plays during classical events and revivals. It is becoming more obvious that the RNG rate has been calculated to achieve this only if you are lucky. Actually, with normal luck, the RNG will require a small purchase of fights - so you can expect around 6-7 days (300-350 fights) for classical events to be normal luck. That's around 10-15 shards per day, so yeah if you get 20 one day and 0 the next day, you still have more or less average luck (10 shards per day). You can call yourself unlucky ("there's something wrong") only with longer streaks of less than 10 shards per day. Just assume that 20 or more shards per day is extreme luck, like hitting a jackpot. You cannot be this lucky all the time. With 10 shards per day, you are still doing pretty well.
  10. You forget that it is basically a collection game. For ordinary players the only purpose of the card is to get one additional girl per month (by collecting enough kobans for a spin in epic pachinko). The club system allows for a couple of hundred players to beat one another better in some Dictator things but essentially that activity is meaningless, just as the money gain. Forgetting that the clubs or leagues exist will not influence the gameplay of ordinary players - their gain will be income from the additional girls that they can spin from pachinko. That's why I believe the card would be much more attractive as a simple USD/EUR 10 = 180 kobans a day = 5,400 kobans a month = 1 girl a month feature. The current 4,500 kobans a month is not bad, it's just a question of how satisfied the players are with the price-return ratio. The current nearly 100% satisfaction rate with the USD/EUR 3 return will decrease among EUR/USD 10 payers. Yeah, maybe everybody will pay anyway and there's absolutely no difference. Or maybe the higher monthly payment will give a weapon to regular playing customers to punish the game by cancelling their subscription due to unlucky RNG streaks, leading to more of them giving up on the game.
  11. I'm also without knowledge of the financial returns but I somehow doubt that the regular koban purchases are a big thing. Anyone thinking "oh I want that girl and need 5,400 kobans" will be faced with the decision: "wtf? I have to cash out 50 euro for that? it's absurd!" Very few people are probably ready to make that investment ("20 euro for half a girl???") and that can be seen by koban promotions that are always 80% off or something like that to make any kind of sense to people. The game lives on Patreon, card buyers and a few crazy people paying the big bucks very occasionally but card buyers must be the steadiest stream of income. Yes, it is safest to get more money from them, but the return must be good enough not to aggravate them. It just seems very likely that the current friendly EUR 3 crowd will turn into a more demanding and hostile EUR 10 crowd, easily irritated by the dozens of bugs in the game. And more ready to consider "i will stop paying" as a punishment - because the current "you won't get those 3 bucks from me anymore" is just too toothless to make sense.
  12. Yeah it's expensive and should give more kobans probably. As one girl (5400 kobans) costs about 40 euro by ordinary purchase, then about 95% of the purpose of the monthly card is to give you access to cheaper kobans. If the card gave around 180 a day or 5,400 kobans a month or one free girl for 10 euro, I could appreciate it more. Now it feels a bit expensive - not by much, just 1-2 euro a month but it's still a difference. With the 3 euro card you feel you are getting a good value. Those who don't use it are just against paying for a game in principle - but I guess nearly 100% of the monthly card users would currently say the price is fair for what you get. Some might feel it for a 10 euro gold card but I guess most of those who start to use it will complain about the price. You will not get any new customers with this. There will be zero non-payers who will say: "Wow, this gold card is such a good offer that I just have to start paying for this game now." Yeah, many 3EUR payers will probably upgrade but most of them will turn into unhappy 10EUR payers. The game has a number of big problems but you almost don't get complaints "I am paying 3 euro a month for this shit, fix it!" It's really small money and almost 100% of the payers are happy with the pricing, so they accept the problems. With 10EUR a month, there will be a lot more complaining, threatening to quit, aggravated core paying players. There will be too many comparisons with what you get for the same money from Netflix. What might help are special regular promotions only to gold card customers, like pay 2EUR for 5,400 kobans or something like this not available for the general population. Because really, the only purpose of the card is to get cheaper kobans, nobody cares about the 10-fight option.
  13. Or is there perhaps a better way to monetize this with existing players, without the need to somehow dig up those who have given up on the game months or years ago? "Want to make real money playing Hentai Heroes? Just go to your account for a few hours every day and do all the daily activities and collect as much money from girls as you can. Contribute 4500 kobans and 30 million ymen a month to the club and we will use PayPal to pay you..." What might be fair? 5 bucks? 10? The good thing with this is that these players don't even have to be club members, they can just join for a few minutes occasionally to make the club payments and can be kicked out and replaced with real benefiting members after that.
  14. The card is perhaps 1-2 euro too expensive. 9.9 USD = 8.9 EUR - but changing the currency means changing the country and that means sending an e-mail somewhere to request that, right? The clubs have not been really worked out. As all the bonuses stay with the club, it gives enormous power to the club owners. They can use members to upgrade, then kick them out and invite members who haven't invested a cent but will get the bonus for free. But on the good side, this could create a market for dead accounts in the 150-300 level range or with around 100 girls. These accounts could be used as cash and koban cows to boost clubs, then kicked out after the club has been upgraded. It's just a a question of where to advertise "used to play Hentai Heroes but abandoned your account? we will buy your username and password for 5 bucks". Could there be a special section in this forum?
  15. Regarding the monthly card, the only interesting change cannot be seen in the test server. How much will the silver/gold cards cost and how many kobans will they give every month.
  16. More and more players start to report 100 shard drops now. The chances may be around 0.1% - one in a thousand (or slightly worse), so you can expect a drop like that every 2-3 months if you take part in all the events.
  17. Not really comparing different events, just listing data. In comparable events (revivals), 128+105 means I got both girls with half a day to spare, while 212 obviously means there was not enough time or fights to get the second girl.
  18. There is some variance within players as well. My results this far (number of fights with the shard system for completed girls). Revivals 128, 105, 212 Classic events 315, 239 Legendary 208 (100 shard drop at 52 shards) 105 and 212 is a pretty big difference.

Second Chance revival Dark Lord Day 1: 57 fights - 4 drops (7% drop rate) - 28 shards Day 2: 52 fights - 6 drops (11.5% drop rate) - 27 shards (55 total) Day 3: 51 fights - 3 drops (5.9% drop rate) - 8 shards (63 total) Day 4: 50 fights - 5 drops (10% drop rate) - 35 shards (98 total) Day 5: 2 fights - 1 drop - 3 shards (101 total) TOTAL: 212 fights - 19 drops - 9% drop rate - average 5 shards per drop Biggest drought 37 fights Gruntt Day 1: 54 fights - 2 drops (3.7% drop rate) - 21 shards EVENT FINISHED with 266 fights for 122 shards TOTAL: I have had 1,193 event fights (disregarding boss fights) without getting a 100-shard full drop. Conclusion: to totally fail during a 5-day revival, you need two things. A bad drop rate (in my case 9%, slightly below the average of 10%) and a small shard count in every drop (in my case the average was 5 that doesn't sound too bad). So I did not have the worst luck, just slightly below average for both, and that was enough to boost my fight count over 200 and make me spend 4 full days on just one girl.

  21. Sorry, corrected now, got the first girl with 212 fights at the beginning of the fifth day. Around 40-45 fights left for the second girl, I am not going to waste kobans on refills, will just be happy to continue next year with the 10-15 shards that I will get for free.
  22. Finally got the first girl on the fifth day after 212 fights. The average drop rate wasn't that bad - 19 drops means 9% - but it also means 5 shards per drop. Looks pretty decent but with revivals pretty decent screws you completely. All you need is a slightly below average drop rate (9% instead of 10%) and a 5-shard average ratio and you go over 200 fights, meaning 4 full days of fights for one girl. In other words - if you are unlucky during revivals, you are completely fucked. 5 days and 250 fights will not give you even one girl. If you have decent luck, you are just screwed - you need 4 full days for one girl. Normal luck means you need around 3 days for one girl. If you are a superlucky bastard (meaning: you are superlucky with the drop rate that is over 10% AND superlucky with the shard rate in each drop, meaning over 6 average), you need around 2-2.5 days and have a decent chance of getting two girls for free. So when Kinkoid says you can get both girls for free during revivals, it means you need to be superlucky during five days and 250 fights. I still think that the easiest way to fix this - the 100-shard full drop rate has to be raised to 1% for revivals only. So 250 fights give you a pretty decent chance to get at least one girl with a full drop. That leaves room for normal/decent/unlucky luck with the drop/shard rate.
  23. For those who continue. My club did a clean-up around 2 months ago, throwing out 80% of players who were dead. I start seeing the same die-out rate in the current membership. Two months ago they were active enough to search for a club that suddenly had free slots and join. Then a few of them complain about not getting shards and more than 80% die out. "Try again next year" is not an encouraging factor for players to stay in a collection game that tries its best to make the main feature as frustrating as possible.
  24. Wow, 160 fights and 63 shards after three days Five days will not be enough to get one girl from this revival, I cannot even start with the second. But at least the test server climbed to 91 shards, no longer mimicking the incredibly shitty luck. I still think the only way to fight this streak (very bad drop rate + very bad shard count from those few drops) is to increase the revival chances of a 100-shard drop back to 1%. This would mean that players hit by the bad luck would have very good chances of getting a full drop by the third or fourth day and 150-200 fights. The 60+ flowers they get would act as consolation.
