Change Artwork of some girls

I very much like the art and drawings in this game. They are very nicely done. Girls like Loving Arcana, Val Red Battler, Loving Bunny, Spring Rumiko, Abrael and so many are amazing to behold.

But there are many gurls, whose art as of now is quite appalling. The ones I find such are:-

Jeanne - Seriously please change. Horrible to look at.

Bonny - No words to say.

Juliette

Kimie - Like Really

Miss Spook

Eugenie

Housemaid

To make the game more awesome, please work on improving those characters artwork. Just my two cents.

A complete overhaul is unlikely, there are more stars(pictures) coming in the future, where i hope they look less ugly. I will give Jennie as an example. She was meh in the original illustrations, but turned out quite beautiful in her new ones.

This assessment is more positive and, where I've given some criticism, I hope to have been constructive.

I couldn't agree more with the assessment of Jennie.  She is just one example of the positive changes we have seen in the evolution of the artwork in this game.  Yes, her 4th and 5th star images are amazing and, to top it off, her boobs are more realistic.  She now sports puffy nipples in her erotic state, as so often happens with females, sometimes even with big boobs like hers (Faye Regan is a great example of this).

I would add that the girls' images mostly show a level of understanding of character and body language that is quite uncanny.  For me, one of the more subtle is cute and pretty little Zoe.  How many of us would have come across girls like her in real life and lusted after them?  She's an example, too, where hairstyles are wonderfully varied and fit the character of the girl in question to a 'T'.

However, some girls appear to have fallen prey to the cosmetic surgeon's knife with silicone implants to the fore.  I include the Super Girl version of Judy Book and some of Salem's poses.  I'm not a big fan of being buried alive in my girlfriends' massive mammaries, so I go more for Princess Agate's, The Housemaid's, Princess Noemy's and Lupa's (oh, and Zoe's herself).  The wee-titted girls are much closer to my preference as they not only seem more natural, but they're a break away from the usual Manga/Anime style of cartoon erotica.  In standard video pornography I've noticed a move towards girls with what are described as 'tiny tits'.

Then there are some unusually risky kinds of attempted realism that do come off well and an example is Viola's shaved beaver that is starting to show some 5-O'clock shadow.  I've never seen this in cartoons before, but that very realism is incredibly erotic to me, even though my personal experience of such fannies is somewhat itchy!

Some don't come off too well and mention was made of Juliette.  I agree there.  I think the artist deliberately went for a plain girl with dead-straight and lank hair look, but went a bit too far.  Another one I'm less keen on is the pencil-shaped Skytte with that ridiculous moronic gaze.  Despite being pencil-thin, her boobs are disproportionately large and are clearly silcone constructs.  If only women knew that some men (probably most) do NOT find silicone boobs a turn-on.  On the other hand, that other skinny chick, Gossy, is truly interesting and appealing to me.  I wouldn't mind becoming depressed by her!  Her final affection scene is really funny with a giddyup horse-riding analogy that works so well.  AND she's hot to trot!

Another one I'm truly ambivalent about is Justine.  In the beginning, the artists tried to create a nutcase Himoki Toga character but started to change her into a newish persona for the Loving Moments event.  As I've said often (probably from another account), for a Valentines Day event the artists and writers were too timid with her and lost their way.  The way they drew her in three of the four profile images in her Loving Justine persona was simply brilliant.  She was sexy, beautiful and devilishly cheeky.  But, what did the artists do!?  For her last image they reverted to her utter nutcase persona with meth-induced bulging eyes and craziness that she could've moved on from.  Justine is so beautiful that she could have any man she wanted, from her chestnut hair to her perfect body, and she went for our gormless hero!?  No, they missed the boat with her I'm afraid.  Her second and third affection images are particularly appealing.  I take it that she's wearing a loosened straight jacket from the Calendar Assylum.  Her affection scenes also fall short and, because the artists and writers lacked the courage to move her on closer to the Valentine's Day theme and, instead, stuck to her manic self, a golden opportunity was lost to explore her vulnerable, feminine side that our hero not only helped mould but whom she fell for.  Her dark and sinister image in her first affection scene is perfectly okay as it was, but the artists needed to move on from that.  Maybe when the time comes for her 5 star upgrade they may listen to my suggestions.

I agree with the assessment of Arcana and I especially love her in her latest form.  What beautiful, sexy, full, rosebud lips she was given - absolutely perfect for her Valentine's Day character (and not used in any other girl that I know of).  Her affection scenes were also brilliantly drawn with almost living eroticism.  In this regard, too, Lenaelle's third affection scene is just brilliant in the same way: passionate, gentle and very erotic (one of the most beautiful moments in artwork, and hats off to the artist who drew her and our hero in true love-making pose - not just the usual brutal sex).  I think he/she was very into this drawing and would have to be proud of the result.

As far as beauties are concerned, I can't go past Bunny.  There was a period (in her earlier 4th and 5th affection images and associated scenes) where the artists went off the rails a bit, but she came back in full force.  She's just beautiful and, with that exception, never fails to please the eye.  Her Loving Moments imagery is top class (as is Lupa's).  She's the mascot for the HH game and I can see why.  Interesting how her eye colour was chosen.  Whether by design or accident, many actual rabbits share her eye colour.

Humour has also been explored more and more often of late (and this can be a risk as a lot of people of different cultures and ethnicities may not get it).  The rivalry between mother and her youngest(?) daughter, Hari, was brilliantly captured and laugh-out-loud funny in Snowboard Hari's affection scenes (what a dysfunctional family with only Bunny happily outside the rivalry - she is preoccupied with Lupa).  There was a moment when Hari was looking on from her snowboard (bum on the deck) at her mother wooing a couple of guys.  The ears, the facial expression and the position of her body was TOTAL humiliation and was one of the most brilliantly subtle moments in cartoon art (including her related image within her mother's shivering affection profile).  Not only that, but insanely cute and pretty little Hari has almost perfect and natural breasts.  She's better all round in her winter form than her Easter one.

Speaking of humour, the outrage is to the fore.  I was so shocked by Tacibana's last affection scene that I burst out laughing.  Wow!!  She is JUST the best and I'm glad I got her!  Very pretty and expressive too.  Lovely, lovely girl and well illustrated.

We now have the menagerie of mutants from Heroes University.  At first glance it is easy to go 'whaat!?', but they definitely grew on me.  I have only one of them so far, Venam, and she's just as hot (lierally?) and sexy as her sister, Mala - perhaps even more so with a very shapely feminine body.

Speaking of feminine, the artists have not been afraid to explore different body shapes (Geekette, Sylvia, Samane, as well as the aforementioned Gossy) to offer us a range, just as is the case in real life.  It is this reality that allows us to become engrossed in the game and suspend our disbelief - necessary because sometimes the script is pretty lame, not at all credible and is derivative (even of itself).  More work is needed there.

Finally, I'd just like to say (as one who is an artist himself - I draw lots of male, female and kid, character and action portraits), hats off to the HH creative team.  You don't get things right all the time, but taking risks as you do inevitably means a few failures.  For such a small team, just to keep up with the high frequency of new events, new troll artwork as well as 5 star affection upgrade images for the girls must take a ton of work and planning - all to frightening deadlines that would make even the best artists get creative blocks (I would!).  This is not to mention the new world 10 that has just been created.

This game is a constant work in progress and the development team have done something that is very unusual and original.  They created a forum to let players vent their spleens or make constructive comments.  What other game company would've done that and also listen and take note of our suggestions (I'm sure they do)?  For the extra work such flexibility of thinking and free sharing of ideas must entail, you guys have taken a huge risk that has largely come off well, but you now have a tiger by the tail with a very popular game that is serving up data traffic issues on your servers.  Not fixed yet, but getting there.

I apologise for such a long commentary, but I hope it strikes a chord with readers.

I'm not agreeing with you on Justine.
Justine is a full case nutjob, and if anything the second pose was too sexy and not crazy enough.
The over the top yandere she is, doesn't change in a loving and sexy character.
It's an anime trope, and this one is the over the top version of said anime trope.
No lovey-dovey-sexy pose should exist of said girl.

He said Jeanne, the blonde Lara Croft. I always though that her first picture is kinda funky. I don't have a problem with the pictures of the other girls in the original post.

Another thing to consider is that the girls are drawn in different styles. So a girl that you might think that have strange proportions was intentionally made that way to resemble the style of the game/comic/movie/whatever where she was a parody from.

That's a sad loss and is so derivative of other genres.  Your response tells me that there are still a lot of fixed ideas around.  Let's say, for example, that Justine suffers from a borderline personality disorder.  This is a disorder where the sufferer experiences extreme alternations of powerful loyalty and hatred towards people who, on the one hand, support her and, on the other, oppose her (even slightly),  They may end up being the same people!  It is not a disorder that is untreatable, but genuine and consistent love and support and gentle exposure to the realities of everyday life can turn the lives of these sufferers around.  In one case I know of, a sufferer of this disorder killed her husband when she drove at a fast pace, 20 kilometres with him pinned to the bonnet of her ute and she drove straight for a wall with him sandwiched between it and the ute.  He died at the scene and she was later found guilty of murder.

Justine has an obsessive/possessive personality that was almost certainly born out of rejection and insecurity.  Nutters like her have their genesis in abuse and neglect earlier in life.  I don't believe she suffers from schizophrenia as she is not painted as being dillusional or hearing voices that make her do things, nor does she show any signs of paranoia.  She shows the classic symptoms of BPD, whatever the derived genre on which her character is based.  Nor does she demonstrate dillusions of grandeur or narcissistic personality disorder (the 'dig me, I'm the number one in the world and I have a huge sense of entitlement' condition).

My own view was formed by my experience of a girlfriend who was later diagnosed with BPD.  She was as nice as pie when I was kind to her and agreed with everything she said.  When I parted company from her self-belief she would turn and become violent and possessive.  I had challenged this self-belief of hers and, at the same time, I exposed her sense of powerlessness and lack of control she felt she had over her own life and destiny.  One day I rushed out the door and slammed it behind me just in time to avoid a varied collection of sharp kitchen utensils left sticking in the door!  To leave her I needed an escape plan otherwise my life was in danger.

However, she did move on from me and found some other poor sucker to persecute.  He didn't turn out as expected and he really came to love her intensely in a way I wasn't able to.  After all, she was an incredibly beautiful green-eyed redhead with a great mind to match.  In her best moods she was witty, funny and kind with lots of graceful femininity and natural elegance.  I, myself, had trouble seeing the forest for the trees in our relationship and could only attune to the nutter that she was (and a dangerous one at that).  Her new boyfriend began to change her from within.  Being the woman she was she tuned in to his body language to sense his sincerity or otherwise and came to see a man who was genuinely in love with her.  She no longer needed to pretend.  She no longer was bound by feelings of inadequacy, her own lack of power and control over her future, her sense of persecution and she blossomed.

I couldn't believe this new woman and I began to first appreciate just who I had lost rather than the true friend I gained, even after I attended her wedding.

The guy's secret?  Consistent and gentle love, a quiet demeanour and voice and, above all, honest and unwavering appreciation of her.  She could be herself for the first time in her life and, while it took many more years for her insecurities to finally disappear, gradually they did.  She found her soul mate in the truest sense of the word, a soul mate who yet dared to challenge her low self-image and constantly reaffirm her spiritual as well as physical beauty.  They had three beautiful children together - three delightful girls who added yet another transformation in her world view.  She could be a mum and a great one at that.

Being a Valentine's Day event, our hero could've shown his true bravery and quietly stood up to her, telling her she's beautiful and a good person.  I daresay he would've brought her to tears of incredulity with his assessment of her, but it would've been the start of her transformation.  As it was, the affection scenes lacked any credibility in the script.  For instance, if he suspected she was stalking and hunting him, how come he left himself in such a dumb and vulnerable position?  Some hero!

On the issue of your assessment of her as a nut job, how come then HH used her at all in the Loving Moments event?  She just didn't fit in this mood or event in her manic guise as she seemed to be fixed.

I'm just saying that the artwork for HH is first class but the storyline is often let down by a lame script.  Understanding people's psychological demons and how they rule their lives can allow the writers to create more real, credible and interesting storylines with good character and story continuity.  Being stuck in a derived genre mode might suit some people but it doesn't grow an audience.  Great authors of fiction have always demonstrated a capacity to research their subject in depth and develop their characters accordingly.  So it could be with game scripts.

The artists and writers had a choice: either leave her out of the atmosphere of Valentine's Day entirely, or have her evolve into a character that celibrates such a day of love and tenderness.  I chose to promote the latter with the possibility of something new for HH beyond the cardboard cutout Himoki Toga genre and derivation.  After all, there was a shift in her artwork for the event and I think even you would agree that they got the whole thing horribly wrong with her ending up being neither one thing nor another.

That's exactly what I was getting at - varied body proportions, but I think this parody thing has been taken too far.  Some HH girls are so far beyond their original parody they could be regarded as whole new characters.

They answered why they had changed the way that Justine looked on discord but they have no other changes planned for already existing poses.
They, however, do plan on upgrading all girls to 4 and 5 stars so they will be changing the poses for the ones that need 4 and 5 stars so that will give them an updated look.

They change the way they look and just make them a parody of something that already exists because they don't want any legal issues so they cannot look exactly the same like with fanart.

Question - Are there any other harmettes with planned redesigns/art updates like Justine received?

Answer - Justine was a specific case in which we worked with a young illustrator for the first time and we couldn’t make the usual modification to fit her more in the usual art direction of the game. For the other girls, there is no modifications that are planned and if there is any changes regarding that, we will communicate it.

A young illustrator for Justine?  A really talented one then. Keep him/her on!  I seem to be a lone voice in liking how Justine turned out more than how she was.  Re. legal (and presumably copyright) issues, this is all the more reason to have another hard look at this parody thing.  Some have come perilously close to being exact replicas.  Take Shao for example (even down to her poses).  If this new artist proved anything it's that parody is not necessary to create a whole new persona that would stamp a 'brand' (I HATE that word) on HH's artwork.

The challenge then becomes of how to maintain the essential and defining physical characteristics of the haremettes over time.  If I have any criticisms, it is that some evolved artwork for the girls has altered so much over time the girls are, for all intents and purposes, completely different people (eg Jennie in her Hamelin Town scenes).  It's all very well saying that, but it is very hard to retain the identity of a person (even in cartoon form) in many redrawings over time.  Sometimes what defines the physical features of a person (especially facial) is very subtle and the slightest variations can make a newly drawn person almost unrecognisable as the same person, especially when body language is factored in, and (by and large) HH's artists have achieved wonders in this regard.  That the artists have largely mastered this challenge is a great credit to them.
