  1. These are the benefits/savings that the gold card grants you: Not getting to battle league opponents / villains entirely for free.
  2. The problem is that the geometric distribution is not very intuitive, and to go by anecdotal success stories can lead to some misunderstandings. Take the 10% rate of success that is generally assumed for event girl shard drops from the villains. It does mean that the average time until a drop occurs is 10 battles, but it's not symmetrical, e.g. the likelihood that any given drop occurs on the 5th battle is totally different (much higher) than the likelihood of it occurring on the 15th battle. That has the interesting implication that about half of all shard drops are happening within 7 battles, not within 10 as one might be inclined to assume. Within 10 battles you're actually getting about 65% of all drops to occur. The thing here is that the "tail" is very long. Long bad-luck streaks are rare, but when they do happen they make up for a lot of drops that happened in under 10 battles. (E.g. 4 drops in 5 battles each and 1 drop in 30 battles = 5 drops in 50 battles = perfectly average, but with 4 "lucky" ones and just 1 "unlucky".) There's only limited room for a drop to be lucky - you can't get it in less than 1 battle, or 9 battles faster than the average - but the scope of an unlucky run is potentially unlimited. So that's what needs to be kept in mind when reading this thread with all its "got the girl in 30 / 40 / 50 orbs" reports. The true average (whatever it is) is dragged up massively by those rare and unfortunate runs like the one you have had.
  3. 100 players in D3: kilik77 KH 470 35 wins entwine Ch 462 43 wins Filip KH 461 5 wins Funnyman KH 460 4th place x1 [CNO] Alastar KH 460 2 wins Cocofire KH 459 2 wins Falcon HC 454 4th place x1 Joe Mambo HC 452 11th place x1 niemand HC 452 4th place x1 ... Cialo Chytrusa KH 450 3rd place x3 Some Jackass Ch 449 2nd place x2 AliciaF KH 449 4th place x3 cisko KH 449 4th place x1 Zeh KH 444 4th place x1 Umber KH 442 3rd place x1 Bugs Bunny Ch 441 3rd place x1 Nasrudin Ch 436 3rd place x1 yyy KH 436 3rd place x4 Taishigi KH 432 3rd place x1 Pretty crowded field this week. Entwine was still shown as KH when the league opened but has switched to Charm now. So have I, actually, though I'm considering it mostly a test run with a 6* girl in play; I'll likely go back to KH when their Mythic Days has come around. (As it stands, KH feels a lot more optimizable because you know exactly what their crit bonus does in points terms. For Charm it's a lot more messy now, and of course exacerbated by their crit bug, too.) Anyway, we'll see how this goes - in this field I would be far from assured of a top 4 finish, so it's as good a week to experiment as any. The low level players: At level 439 I'm only in a 4-way tie for 29th place this time around, so pretty low. The median is...yikes, 429.
  4. After 10 weeks, #4: 22.29 average, bolstered by a very lucky week on crits, so not a particularly great score otherwise. With some 5 minutes to go I thought that this might actually end up as a D2-style winning margin of several hundred points, but Dick jumped up from 6187 points at the last moment. Brief scare for me there, though 66 points is still a fairly sizable difference in the end. (Assuredly 100+ points if not for the charm bug, though...) First-ever top 4 results for the duo that finished in 3rd and 4th place; BoDKa is Charm, Panzer KH. 20.37 being sufficient to beat 5th place...I've seen leagues where that wasn't enough for a top 15. 6th place finisher zen was one of those annoying players whose booster setup changes on almost every snapshot without ever going completely boosterless, and after about 5 days of that I took my shot when he was with only 1 ginseng and 1 cordyceps. His being charm actually meant that I wasn't assured of a win against him when he was fully equipped with 4 boosters, even though he's basically at the same player level that I am. Ouch. Stupid bug. Besides zen I ended up fighting 3 more players on boosts. That included 2 low level guys (414, 369) who went the whole week without any opening. (One more player at level 391 only dropped his boosters on the very last snapshot today.) The last, or rather first, one was a guy around level 440 with normal-looking stats that I fought right at the start of the week just to get the token timer going. Unfortunately, on a closer look it wasn't an unboosted setup, but rather 4 ginsengs + no club bonuses. Oops. I didn't ever actually see him unboosted later on, so maybe I would have had to fight him with those stats anyway. I missed checking him on a handful of snapshots, though, so who knows. Top 15 by class: KH, Ch, Ch, KH, KH, Ch, HC, Ch, 4x HC, Ch, KH, Ch. Certainly the largest number of HC top 15's I've seen in a long time. Prize cutoffs: 15th 5810, 16th 5778 (19.07), 30th 5405, 31st 5398 (17.82). Edit: Oh, and...this bracket did turn out to have a rather large number of players trying to demote. 13 zero-pointers in the end, followed by players on only 11, 17, 19 (first non-demoter), 19, 286 and 288 points.
  5. Amusingly, it works perfectly now in the rare case that Reassurance and Narcissism do get triggered at the same time, just at the expense of having messed it up for all the other cases. Reassurance.mp4 (First Reassurance with bugged display, second one + Narcissism displayed correctly.)
  6. Yeah, that's a pretty standard distribution for the highest-level players. But even those include a bunch that don't play the leagues all that seriously and just happen to be KH because it was always their class.
  7. I doubt it. We've had 500 Estelles worth of shards left over here today. There aren't nearly that many "serious" KH players in the high leagues, and some of them have certainly picked up both Bunna and Estelle anyway so their interest in Mythic Days has already been reflected. Among players elsewhere there's really no reason to expect the KH girl to be markedly more desired. (At least not for PvP reasons; George might well be right that girl attractiveness plays a role, but since we have no idea who it's going to be...)
  8. Just finished Estelle in 1295 battles, quite a bit luckier than the 1532 it took for Bunna last month. I went up to 97 shards while the combativity discount was active yesterday, so altogether she clocked in at 11,457 kobans.
  9. And after you "caught them scamming" you, you repeatedly bought further things here on HH? I suppose your lack of self-control isn't limited just to your big mouth.
  10. Brittany is my first girl available in 8 rotations, so of course I went for her. Started with 510 orbs + free spin. 11 Chlorella, 5 Ginseng, 3 Cordyceps, 2 Spell Books, 2 plain Books.
  11. So the more accurate subject line would have been "my account got locked after I was abusive to the support personnel"?
  12. Well done making this stand, considering the shards available didn't get exhausted last month and probably won't this time either.
  13. You also receive some points automatically for each level. 9 points for your main stat, 7 points for your secondary stat (the one that contributes to defense and endurance), 5 points for your tertiary stat (the one that contributes to defense and harmony).
  14. Nothing like spending a bunch of kobans wastefully and getting rewarded with above-average luck to really drive home how pointless that spending was.
  15. She appeared on Nutaku in the very first rotation back in November 2019, and then again only 10 rotations later.
  16. The reference frame that you're either not aware of or willfully ignoring (considering you were already playing the game at the time) is that the event girls were removed from the Epic Pachinko initially when the Event Pachinko was created. So it was quite clear that the intended meaning of the description was "the price is higher than it used to be [1800 instead of 540], but the drop probability is also 'high' compared to what it was before".
  17. I've had no problem carrying over properly claimed kisses.
  18. Some placement screenshots as we're ending Season 2. First off for comparison a single low one from Nutaku again: Everything else HH.com now: 1020 is the score most people will have after doing the tutorial battle, so that doesn't really indicate activity yet. As can be seen, even just one score higher at 1041, over 25,000 accounts have already fallen away, and then the numbers continue to drop off quite sharply early on. The account that ended up at 2006 mojo was at 6000 at one point (I was checking something about the girl unlock at tier 25), and when I tanked that account back down, I was surprised how few active players there were in that area late in the season. I'd drop 500 mojo points and only fall past 1 or 2k players. In the end, it turns out that there are fewer accounts between 2000 and 11,000 mojo than there are players at tier 50, so effectively over 50% of the at least somewhat active players managed to complete the Season this time. By the way, there's no rank tie-breaking outside the top 200, so when it shows e.g. position 146,220 for 1000 mojo, that appears to be the lowest position of the entire group (i.e. from 123,133 to 146,220 it's all the 1000's).
  19. A 102-player D3 again: Funnyman KH 459 4th place x1 feanor KH 456 2nd place x2 Dick Ch 454 1 win Mori HC 451 8th place x2 niemand HC 451 4th place x1 fabi37 KH 450 9th place x1 Panzer KH 449 5th place x1 Tyler Ch 449 15th place x2 barsik82 HC 447 6th place x1 Yllib HC 447 16th place x1 jon Ch 447 2nd place x1 ... ceroxon HC 446 4th place x1 No, I didn't forget to list anybody there at the bottom, that really is the whole lot of former top 4's outside the screenshot players. No excuse for not winning this bracket, I guess... Weirdly, I did spot like 8 different players with 4 or more D2 wins (and several more with high-ish D1 win totals), so it looks like I ended up in a bracket full of people riding the elevator here. The lower levels: Like last week I'm starting this one at level 438 (only for a few more hours though), which is good for a 3-way tie for 26th this time, actually worse than a week ago even though this bracket is otherwise much softer. Median 422, again pretty high. We'll see if the scores get depressed to a similar degree as well.
  20. Grumble, grumble. 22.14 average only for me, and I can't say I didn't try, so as expected it was a very low-scoring week in this stacked bracket. An expensive 2nd place, all things told - I treated this (justifiably) as a potential win, so more optimizing, more tactical refills than usual and 6 booster sets throughout the week instead of my usual 5. Wasn't enough. 3 losses this week, all to 4t+ and his bugged stats, about 3500 excess points in each class stat with his permanent booster setup involving 3 ginsengs. Can't say how this league would have ended up with unbugged battles, since my clubmate @Tommy55 (grats again) told me that he lost to him, too, but it's still rather aggravating that league placement keeps being affected by all these inordinately strong opponents. I did catch everybody else unboosted, though that was quite the chore thanks to PoA. Interesting that the two winningest players Majin and 4t+ ended up outside the top 4, pushed aside by Charm duo LongLeo and Ashura62. Top 15 by class: KH, KH, Ch, Ch, KH, KH, Ch, KH, KH, Ch, KH, Ch, Ch, KH, Ch. The best HC player finished...19th? Ugh. Prize cutoffs: 15th 6165, 16th 6103 (20.14), 30th 5581, 31st 5550 (18.32). Pretty strong results there in the upper-middle region, as one would of course expect to see in a week where the top-rankers have struggled to post big averages.
  21. To be fair, that max number displayed on the battle preview is also useless since it erroneously uses 1.3 as the contribution multiplier for beta and omega stats, while it has actually been 1.75 on defense in the battle mechanics for years. But that's a separate issue from the bug that Kinkoid introduced a couple of weeks ago.
  22. Huh? That was me implying that I was looking at the beta/omega buff as an intentional change, just not the damage-halving that also got added at the same time. As for narcissism happening on two consecutive rounds, I have no idea what you're talking about. That has been an officially announced game feature for nearly a year, why would I treat that as not intended?
