Methos2
13 hours ago, Kenrae said: Yes, that's the case as far as I know. Dark Sun 1 & 2 are my favourite games from SSI era, along with Stronghold, which I finished, I don't know, 5 or 6 times. I recently played this one again thanks to GOG. It's as buggy as always . Dark Sun is also my favourite d&d setting, with Ravenloft being a close second. I don't really like the rest that much, I find them bland. That brings back memory. The countless hours of mapping the lands in the games. And fantasizing over the cover of Curse of Azure Bonds, why can't CxH art style be more like that?! One of my favorite AD&D is Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor. Epic story line, good artwork, great soundtrack. The collector edition comes with a novel which is my favorite D&D fiction as well. However, it is also the most buggy game I've ever played. I had to backup the saved games frequently because it would delete them when the game crashed. Anyway, here's the soundtrack if you are curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrikm3Of-EU&list=PLBB3311DD99EADFD5&index=

The second game was great too. I still have a notebook with squared sheets full of game maps, I must say that once automaps started being a common feature I didn't miss doing my own maps one bit .

If someone of you guys didn't knew already and likes to rediscover somewhat the Gold Box Games by SSI and the Westwood/SSI Eye of the Beholder trilogy, try to search on Google "The All Seeing Eye" and "Gold Box Companion". Old games under DosBox with an automapping system have a different flavor, and personally I liked it quite a bit. By the way, I realize that once more I am derailing the topic, so my apologies. Although I feel less guilty being already in the off-topic section 😜. Allow me to compensate by linking my favorite battle music (and one of my favorite game music in general: I even use it as a ringtone on my smartphone): https://youtu.be/3B_EctHjsR4

lepidocter
In the verge of Xmas, an italian song about Nativity Scene and some issue it can cause to you. Nativity Scene Coming On - by Elio e le Storie Tese https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZ5O8XZulh0 Quote They say that at Christmas everybody is good He who makes the tree, He who makes the crib It's Jesus' night To make a good nativity scene you need shepherds, a hut, Joseph and Mary and the Baby Jesus For example, a good nativity scene Can cost you a fortune If you put the little donkey and the warming ox in it The snow is falling already Merry Christmas to all Scrap the old ox And switch to the warming ox The crib is fantasy But it'll cost you a fortune Because a warming ox Costs a lot of money Here come the three wise men Guided by GPS Gift givers But what is myrrh? Gum aromatic resin Extracted from a shrub of the genus combifora family busseracee Which is used by the Magi and in embalming Myrrh is already descending On the mummies of the crib I haven't told you yet I set it in ancient Egypt One mummy's a shepherd The other mummy is a fisherman One mummy is a pond They're very good mummies. But they have a small defect this You give them a finger and they take your arm They hide it in the moss And you have to find it Don't lose your temper, keep in mind it's a mummy And if you don't find your arm call the hotline "Hello, this is mummy emergency, go ahead..." "I can't find my arm!" "I see, he hid it in the moss, I guess..." "But... sorry, how did you know that?" "We're Mummy Emergency, you want me not to know such things? I salute you, merry Christmas!" "Yeah, but what am I supposed to do now? Who's going to reattach my arm?" The incense is going down already. It's a very intense Christmas. There's even gold coming down Merry Christmas, everybody Myrrh is on its way I'd put my signature on it The effect of the benzodiazepine That the doctor prescribed is coming down too... Look at the nativity scene coming on Edited December 7, 2021 by lepidocter
