I have no doubt that Jessie Chan will be reading them all and having a bit of a chuckle around the coffee table at them with her fellow staffers. This so-called legendary event certainly got us all going and it would seem to have had the desired effect of having some of us buy kobans with real Euros to recharge combativity - it would seem of little or no benefit though for many! Just to let you know, I haven't had a drop of a regular girl, bar one, since the event started, including this account where I'm still patiently waiting for Levitya to drop. I've had this grey-haired vixen drop in three know-how accounts quite early on, which is better than for any other girls I've striven for since (only Leeditt so far). I just wish she'd bloody well drop in hardcore for me!!!(!) So I think her drop rate is on a par with regular random drops, but not the usual event girls. Meanwhile I've had to forego a decent amount of cash regressing to battling Dark Lord where he's maxed out at lvl 30 and paying no more than 3,500 (compared with Finalmecia maxed out at lvl 260 and paying out 26.5k). Fortunately, I've been doing quite well in the arena lately where I've accumulated around 800 worth of affection in three accounts, but only after cottoning on to the fact that I have to bring in a new beta or omega who is not maxed out so the promised payout will take place. So far, it's not at any real cost to my competitiveness providing I assess my chances of winning first. Yeah, but have you noticed how many events there have been? Just when we finish one another one seems to start and it's usually back to battling Dark Lord all over again (sometimes Ninja Spy, Gruntt or Edwarda - even Donatien once - but usually Dark Lord for one of the girls). And if that's the case, my interest in her just died. But in case it's not, I will keep trying. For free. But to echo what some have said, I do think it's pretty weird that the most powerful girl is in Dark Lord's harem. Unless the idea is to tempt new players into trying to get her, since they wouldn't have access to the later bosses yet. Stranger still that Dark Lord could afford to keep such a high class girl happy with the little bit of money he drops. But if it matters? I wouldn't mind so much failing to get a legendary girl to drop if I was at least earning Finalmecia level money in the process. Because ending an event without the girl AND broke? Not a great feeling at all. Yes, that's a good strategy. Early on (hardcore accounts only), as an experiment I tried using kobans to recharge combativity - up to 2000 each. Zero success! But in 3 know-how accounts where I let the combativity recharge in its own 10 hour timeframe, almost immediate success - 31-45 tries and no waste of kobans. The moral of the story for me has been to go with the flow and see how random luck plays out because that's what it is. Chance and probability resets after each try so your chances stay the same, no matter how often we try. We could get her first shot or grind away for 300+ tries like I did in hardcore early on with no luck at all. If most players understood the psychology (indeed psychiatry) of gambling and chance on the production of endorphins in the brain they would be rather less inclined to keep on trying so hard - in some cases spending real money to buy extra kobans and hanging on the hope "she'll drop this time". A lot of research by game and gambling companies has been invested in understanding this relationship and they've got us sussed - sadly. In this game the way the amazing way drops take place might have a lot to do with it as it really is thrilling and anticipatory. I've literally fallen off my chair twice when this happened unexpectedly! Just to really piss them off, in my know-how accounts, I used some of my kobans to try out single play Epic Pachinko and won Skytte. That's a girl I wouldn't have got if I'd wasted my money trying for Levitya (who dropped in these accounts in the second or third rounds of battles anyway!). I also won the casino contest for my rank in one account that time because just about everyone else must've been transfixed on using their kobans to try for our legendary girl. I could just as easily have won Lupa in EP since I'd got all the random drop girls available in that account. She is my dream girl. Overall, I'm philosophical and easy about the whole thing. I'm still adding to my harem and having a good ol' laugh at some of the pages and pages of negative comments - that keep on keeping on, I notice. In my hardcore accounts I'm still winning quite a few of the arena battles, once I'd rejigged my equipment, but I expect to lose big time once those lucky hardcore sods who got Levitya have maxed out her affection and can have her kicking ass as their alpha. I just won't engage with them. However... if I win her in at least one hardcore account I'll be super happy and would eventually be able to kick ass myself. In this case: create a supposedly especial girl (not very especial because there are a lot of 5 star girls) name her as legendary so everybody wants it. Make and avertisement where she moves, deceiving people into thinking that she's legendary because she is the only animated girl in the game (with a diminutive warning that the moving image doesn't belong to the actual girl, we don't want fraud claims ) Now they have extended the time limit, at least one day, the next step is to wait some time and come out with a new advertisement: do you remember that girl you couldn't catch? now she's on Epic Pachinko! Death guy still has a girl I haven't gotten, the others have 1 or 2 I haven't gotten except for Dark Lord who I cleared out. As such I completely ignore events unless they are releasing a girl that is significantly better than what I got or can get in time. Now that I got legend girl Bunny and will get Fairy in less than 3 weeks, I should have no interest in event girls until I reach the end of the game at least. Even then there is playing catch up on all those girls I missed moving up and those who are only in epic Panchinko. Also leveling up the 5 stars takes a lot of doing. Too many of those event girls are just variants anyway which I don't like and why get 3500 a fight when I can get 13.5 K a fight and have a similar chance to get a girl. I suppose in 4 or 6 months I might feel differently. Also that, event girl for a short period of time, odds are I will miss a few anyways and they may never show up again so if I miss one, meh. Toss in that higher level bosses drop legendary affection items on a semi regular basis during events, I'd rather go for those than some random chick I may never see again except in the wiki. I guess now I should tell you the story of how back in 1927 I went to Shelbyville with an onion on my belt as was the style at the time and back them nickels had bees on them and we would say give me 5 bees for a quarter... considering much like Grandpa Simpson I also can tell long boring stories that go nowhere. Yeah so I guess if you are high level and a collector [cue reference to comic book guy in the episode with Lucy Lawless who unlike Zena can fly] then I suppose the avalanche of event girls and having to fight the bottom 3 bosses to get them would be a huge old pile of suck.
