And it didn't cross you mind yet that the porn site might be an actual partner and Kinkoid just misplaced the banner 🤔

Well, then they would have written in the error section, instead of this.

this is their standard reply when something isn't working as intended.

In this case, the answer "we are investigating the situation" is completely inadequate. In this case, I see not a gaming error, like the one that did not give a reward in the tower or vice versa gave several times, but the introduction of an alien code into the game, which is much more serious. And I do not have to sit wondering whose banner it is, kinkoids or criminals who hacked the game and how dangerous it is. This is a question of the security of the players and their money and the answers to it should be as quick and detailed as possible. There is already "a joke is over and everything is serious."

Well, now add to this what was the beginning of the discussion in this topic. Everyone sees a player who shows very suspicious statistics in the game, which is more likely to be obtained in illegal way. And if this is so, then the conclusion is quite obvious - there is a serious vulnerability in the game that allows you to do this. Or maybe it still allows something more serious and much more illegal.

Well, and then we see the following - pornos begin to pop up, as when a computer is infected with viruses. All that the developers say is "we are investigating", both in terms of the situation with banners, and in the situation with suspicious players (there have been several days already). The conclusions that I do is that they either simply do not understand the seriousness of the situation, or they are specially silent about it and it seems to me much more likely than the first. I really would be happy to make mistakes and turn out to be a “stupid alarmist”, but during my 15 years experience of online games I have seen this behavior several times in the administration of various games when something went wrong. At first they were silent to the last or answered questions with common phrases "we are investigating", and then it turned out that the password bases and credit card data were stolen, and this, for a second, is in a steam store, where the security system is much more serious than here.

One way or another, I should have paid attention of the community, and people should decide whether it’s worth taking the warning seriously or not. My conscience is clear. And yes ... you will be so careless in cybersecurity, then the "Russian hackers" will not only elect the American president for you, but also reprogram your electronic toilet bowls. Will you go to the toilet "put a big larva", and he will suck you on the ass with vacuum and will not let go until you gives all the money to him. So do not lose vigilance, enemies everywhere, especially on the Internet.)))

Good thing I stick with good old mechanical cistern flush toilet. I don't trust them new gadgets. Like the guy said, it might suck my ass and who knows what else.

I like how this guy jumps from ad to Russian hackers. HTTPS isn't so fragile that a single ad could do anything harmful. At worst it would refer you to a website with malware at which point it would still require an ungodly amount of naivety to manage actually getting something harmful on your device.

But you know, seeing how this "ad" is programmed in by Kinkoid, I highly doubt it has any more harmful elements than the Koban ads.

P.S. That tinfoil hat will ruin your hair.

i have to reply to this. there is indeed something to investigate. "why the fuck is the ad misplaced so that mobile users can't close it?". so this reply is adequate after all (besides it being the standard reply as chthugha already pointed out).

i'm still unsure whether you're serious or you're just trolling around. 🤔

I've got a good obvious conclusion, too: they are laundering money this way! If you don't see any new postings from me in the next days, I've come too close to the truth! ;)

Iframes, on the other hand, indeed are a no-go...

This whole situation, of course, amuses me, but in the most part I am certainly serious, and I still have certain doubts about the harmlessness of the situation. Once again, briefly list the facts that alarm me.

Banners appeared in the game with links to porn resources, which was not there before. Moreover, they interfere with many players from playing and cannot be closed. From this it seems that all this is done not by the developers of the game, but by someone else. (For me personally, the words "I can not close the pornobanner" are synonymous with the phrase "a computer is infected with a virus" - periodically I have to treat computers of different people of such infections)

The vague administration response “we are investigating” and no more information. There are questions. Are these your banners? If so, why are they made through the ass, it was difficult to test before dumping on the main server? What are you "investigating" there for two days, how to change 4 lines in the code so that everything is displayed normally, is it so difficult? Or you do not have access to this code and it’s certainly not really “your” banners? And so on.

It’s the same with this player who, in less than two weeks, did 70k fights against bosses, which is about 5,000 euros in money (not the US military budget, of course, but for this game the amount is clearly excessive), and he didn’t even open at least one the star of the girls received is an increase in affection of zero over the past and this week. (he is generally interested in the game?)

But the answer is still the same "we are investigating." That there you can “investigate” a week, if it takes only 5 minutes to look at the statistics and answer the questions in order to keep away all speculation. Is this an honest player or does he use cheats or bugs? Is this a test administration account? If so, why does he get to the tops of the tower depriving the prizes of ordinary players? Or are you just pulling time while quietly trying to fix a bug in the game? Why do the ships disappear in the Bermuda triangle and where are the yeti hiding?

As we say in my homeland - "there is no smoke without fire," and here I see a column of smoke almost as big as it was over Canada on the day of the legalization of "one purely medical plant." Is there any real danger? Personally, I don’t think so, but ... “It's better safe than sorry,” said one wise nun, and then put a second condom on a cucumber and I totally agree with her.

Are you sure that you do not need such a hat?

The mere realisation that your idea of arguing consists of "no u" (in regards to an off-topic comment, no less) makes me question how seriously any one person can take you.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing to be wary of viruses, malware, scams, phishing and so on. But I find it extraordinary that you can even consider the scenario where a misbehaving ad could have these complications when there's a team that works hard on the game nearly every day.

And yes, I agree that on the surface it definitely doesn't sound like it should be too difficult to temporarily remove or fix the ad. But we don't work behind the scenes. We don't know what might be keeping them, what infrastructures they have in place to manage 6+ servers, or what the issue might be.

As for the Koban spenders, some people just do that. We also have $500 dollar Patrons who have been in that position for a long time. If they have expendable income, let them spend it. And we have plenty more people who don't play the game we consider "the right way," let them. If they're enjoying the game, let them play however they want to play. If they don't want to upgrade girls, if they don't want to collect new girls because they want to keep their harem maxed, whatever.

And why did you decide that I care about how seriously they treat me and my warnings? I'm just a stranger who "advised you to fasten the seat belt in the car, because it seems to him that clouds are gathering on the horizon, it will rain, and the wet road is dangerous." You can not do this, but having come home without incident, laugh at the fool in a tin cap who says all sorts of nonsense.

I have to cut the guy some slack. He writes way too long posts with strange comparisons (I am curious though, is ”the US military budget” really a Russian way of saying ”an insanely large number”? If so, that amuses me, well done Russia)

But that 70k bossfights thing is not just “people spening money”, thats madness. Investigating is the right thing to do.

As for the banners, I dont see them and that makes me think it is not theirs, but a type of malware affecting some users. Then, if it isnt a malfunctioning hh partner banner, I dont see why they cant say: ”this isnt ours, we are investigating. Please dont click anything.” Was that so hard?

I never saw them, so I cant say if it it obvious or not.

The fact some saw them and some dont would suggest something else. Just as if it was theirs, why not take it away right away and then investigate? They wanted it in your faces a few day at least I guess.

Then, they could.have said: oh, sorry. They are not meant to do that, were investigating.

Why do some people get a certain promotion and others don't?
Why do some people get a certain banner for 600 kobans and others do not?

There is never a consistency in these things.
The banner looked very similar to other banners Kinkoid put up.

Thats great, because, again, you saw it. I didnt. I just read about it here and think Lemus had a point. Like I finished before, they could have responded with: ”oh, its not meant to do that. ”

Just an idea. A suggestion. Not an arguement. Stop trying to be HHs knight in shining armor. They dont need it. They are people, they can get better from feedback.

They definitely can improve, but this was a perfectly adequate response for all average players. It's not area I'd prefer they work on improving first.

"Game element behaving in undesirable manner"

"Strange. We'll investigate why".

"awesome, thanks"

Not some nonsense over the top reaction about how a misaligned ad is representative of malware.

  • 2 weeks later...

Got that guy from Vietnam in my league this week. He's currently sitting at the first place, 12 points above 2nd. What's most amusing is you can't fight him, literally. When you try to click him, the pop-up window says exactly that: "You can't fight him." Let's see if he gets more points and stays on top
