I feel like the girls made by the previous artist looked unique when compared to other girls while Santa Claudia feels super similar to a lot of L5's we have in the game already. Ben Kinkoid handled all 24 of the previous MD girls and they were insanely similar to one another, as well as countless girls of all rarities and number of stars he did over the past 6 years or so, being the main HH artist for ages. All of them share all of his own unique tropes, idiosyncracies, mistakes and shortcuts. Duck faces, Play-Doh feet when standing up, and much more. The new Goddess who took over is no other than "Venus" as thus affectionately nicknamed by yours truly (since she doesn't have an "official" Kinkoid provided nickname). She's been handling the vast majority of L5s for the past couple of years or so. Obviously her unique and instantly recognizable style and technical mastery will remind you of her own previous works... ^^ Including credible anatomy, detailed and realistic clothing, a lot more variety in terms of poses instead of more or less tracing the same templates over and over again, absolutely adorable treatment of feet and hair, and massive skills in storytelling and composition. Also, she looks like an older version of Santa Claudia. This has nothing to do with art or anatomy though. CP: 803 (367 free, 449 bought (4,363 kos at a 10% discount), 13 extra) Drops: 52 (48 w/ SP, 4 w/o SP) Drop Rate: 6.475% Shards: 100% (96 w/ SP +4 w/o SP) SP: 5 (2,700 kos). Used 48/55 charges. 50 CP Button Uses: 6 for 288 kos. MD Cost: 7,351 kos (6x 50 CP button, 449 CP, & 5 SP) Pantheon Costs: 2,254 kos for 270 CP, worth 2,916 kos. 450 kos for a headband, & 1,804 kos for ~70 temple worship, to beat floors 1,835 to 1,899. Total Costs: 9,605 kos Resources I approached this MD trying to store up a lot of CP. Got 270 CP from the pantheon's 1800-1900 floors. I've also been doing better in leagues lately. Got 3x top 4 rankings in DIII, so it was easy to purchase the SP in advance. Plus, I had U. Valentina already, from last month's MDR, so I saved there too. Had 354 stored CP thanks to the pantheon, which I quickly used w/ 288 kos on 6x 50 CP buttons, then switched to doing single fights. Spent 7.3k kos total, to get her within the first 8 hrs. If I include my pantheon costs, it adds up to about 9.6k kos, which is average. Today has a fight villain (200)/seasons (150) daily contest, so there's an extra incentive to just get her immediately, for a 300 kos rebate. There's a 10% discount on buying CP as well, making refills slightly cheaper. My drop rate was an average 6.48%, but there was one point where I got 9 drops from just 50 CP, so I felt lucky. She's paired w/ Finalmecia for sensual gems 🔵, that are in high demand. I've gained 1880 sensual gems since the past CbC. Also gained 70 MPx1s, which will hopefully get me an EP girl and mythic gear later. Art by Castel. Art Appreciation Jiggle Santa Claudia ⚫ has exceeded my expectations. She's not a parody of an anime character, but it's Santa. Everyone knows Santa. It's a simple no brainer for the holiday season. Glad to see a different artist working on mythic girls. It feels polished, clean, and high quality overall. I'll enjoy watching rule 63 Santa vanquish foes in future orgies. I think my fave poses are the 4th and 5th stars, cuz I'm a booty lover. I also love when girls bite their lips, as a sign of arousal. I was hoping to see an elf get dominated or something, but maybe that'll be in her scenes. I don't have any makeup complaints, it makes her look really festive. She has a bright & happy smile. Makes me want to decorate a tree. Game Relevance I expected her to be a voyeur 🟣, like her voyeurism fetish, 2 previous variants, and since creepy Santa spies on sleeping ppl. Instead, she's a Dom ⚫, the best element. I consider it better than sensual 🔵, b/c you need to first be able to deal high dmg, before reaping the benefits of healing more per hit. You also need high atk for both leagues and the pantheon. Regardless of art, that makes her a must have, especially for newer players trying to get their first mythic. She's my 3rd Dom mythic girl. As for her scenes art, I've unlocked 5/6 images so far and they're exactly what I expected which for me personally is a bummer as mentioned above. It's great art for sure but Ben's girls had that feeling of a real body while Venus' feel a bit doll like? I don't know how to word it properly. (And the gap from these two to Orange is fairly large). ---------- ART: I see where you're coming from, lots of fans of Ben's art out there (myself included, I should clarify, as I focused more on his weaknesses than his strengths earlier on, but credit where it's due: his art is what hooked me into trying this game in the first place). I'm not interested in very large boobies myself, which is another factor that comes into play. Venus draws much more reasonable breasts in general (but also better asses, hands down, which should play in her favor even for your typical T&A looker who isn't particularly into fine arts). In any case, I'm not 100% sure on how close we are to Ben's retirement or how official it is (if it is even decided) but regardless it's clear for anyone paying attention to the signs that he's been slowly but surely reducing his workload and level of involvement in HH for awhile now (and his level of interest or inspiration, that showed consistently in a lot of his work for the past year or so, as I've pointed out along the way). Even putting my fandom of Venus as an artist aside, she's objectively their top artist besides Ben. I don't think they have anywhere enough artists on or even near her level (or Ben's for that matter) for a rotation to make sense (or just to be a safe bet). So fingers crossed, but I really think Venus just taking over MD durably is the best option they have, even though she has her detractors too. Basically, until more fresh blood gets introduced, confirmed and solidly established in the regular team, in a post-Ben HH they'll have Venus as their only top-tier artist (regardless of stylistic preferences) and then a second very solid and interesting artist (albeit not quite on that level just yet, even though he's been showing a lot of progress over time) in... the guy I should probably find a decent and sticky enough nickname for and start talking about a bit more seriously: the one who has been around for at least a couple of years (closer to three I think) and basically does every L5 that's done neither by Venus nor by Ben (who doesn't often do L5s or non-MD girls lately, and also quit the main story mode stuff months ago; he did do Attina recently though). Zoya, Elphiba, Golden Rabbi & Hari, Lavender, Melisandre etc. etc. All the slightly more cartoon-ish ones (but still really cool usually, and occasionally fantastic, with rare masterpieces such as Stellaluna or Avaritia). Right now, they have a hopefully temp artist filling in for the adventure mode scrolls, but I find them truly lacking, not just in their drawings (though that too) but most blatantly in their lack of storytelling and composition skills. With Venus taking over MD girls, if she keeps most L5s as well (which I hope), then she'll likely need to cut down or even just stop working on CxH and other reskins and focus exclusively on HH, and even then they'd need at least one or two strong and reliable artists to join the permanent roster alongside... "Lavender?" (work in progress for the nickname, folks ^^ it'd be unfair to call him Bushman now that he largely fixed that flaw over a year ago). And hopefully one full time on adventure quests, with decent skills for visual narration. So yeah, sorry to see Ben go completely if he eventually does as I suspect (let's call all of the above "'speculation" or whatever, okay? I'm just theorycrafting out loud ^^ nothing has been confirmed yet and I have a gut feeling we haven't seen the last of Ben yet). However, I feel they should have switched to someone else for MD specifically awhile ago. Let Venus have her own 2-year run now (at least!). Most players don't have a trained eye for visual arts, and have seemingly random preferences for this or that series of pics (or, let's be real, more often than not just the 0-star pose pic, as we've seen with Titania's way early revival's success, if you remember the whole story). Usually based on which bits of information along the lines of "big boobs! T&A! nekkid gal!) are present in that drawing and how well it registers to the masses' judge for art quality in this game, which is an organ situated a little bit lower than the brain. And that's how they upvote weak drawings or talk shit about stellar works of art for very minor nitpicks like "she looks older" or "she has too much makeup" regularly (but not reliably! it's fairly random actually). Of course the new Santa Claudia variant looks more like an adult and realistic character than the doodles of her humble origins as a walking punchline, or even the best of her later kind of matured variants from after Ben started to get really good. The original design was pretty cartoon-ish and drawing her as is with a much more realistic style like Venus' would have been Uncanny Valley gallore. So yeah, she looks like a Venus piece first and foremost, and her interpretation of the Santa Claudia concept more specifically. We had characters like Sylvia go from a 120cm tall chubby gnome/elf/orsomething to a 180cm thin human girl with discreet Spock ears with no explanation (and other examples in the past). I don't remember seeing you in the small and completely ignored revolt I ran back then? But now Claudia doesn't look like a half-chibi teen anymore and you're going so far as calling her a granny? Not cool, bro. As for your enormous screenshot of a tiny number... Vox populi, vox shitty, NGL. ^^ Having said that, shards have been depleted with each refill fairly quick so far on .COM, pretty much as usual. Maybe Nutaku players were busier tonight? Maybe they have worst taste than .COM players? Who knows? I really hope this one is going to be successful because it's Venus' debut on MD, and I hope she'll get all the support she can get. Knew a "community" guy who was pretty good at lobbying at some point... Could use his help right now, rather than him working against this inevitable change which is good for the game long-term even if you happen to dislike this specific MD girl for whatever reason. Not really, at this point I'm trying to get all Mythics I can with MD's and MDR's being my only nuban sinks right now at least for the next 2 months when MDR's will get to the girls I already have. Not cool, bro. KK has been doing that for too many girls to keep track/count. I'm 500+ girls behind, and I often don't have original versions. I also don't care too much about 3* girls, so if one variant is crap, I just ignore her - not worth a post. That specific Fangirl Sylvia was my 103th girl, over 2 years ago. Let's just say I didn't care much back then, as I stopped playing just 2 weeks later 😛 And as usual, some discuss aesthetics and personal preference, while others discuss technical quality and accuracy.
