D3 run #139 2023/04/20-27 (Triana Week 6 / Week 002 of No LG left for me):

Congrats to Origin for the win, and glad Jelom ended up in top 4 too.

The screenshot itself was taken a couple hours earlier than that, but I've had another look like 10 mins before reset and the high scores hadn't moved (that I could see at least). So I only have myself to blame for this very close miss (15 points). I could and should have scored a good deal more than that. It took me far too long to accept that despite having the top 7 (top 8 even) girls of the week in my collection, I was way too low on yellow gems to max out Lupa's Mom early enough for that league. Funny thing is Sifra was much closer to ready and I already had enough blues to top her off right away, and switching from my level 700 Lyka to my level 750 Sifra, despite her smaller blessing, made my attack team a fair bit stronger. But I made that move only yesterday instead of as soon as Phase 2 started as, in 20/20 hindsight, I know I should have. ^^

Anyway, still a top 4 (an expensive one, not gonna lie, but I'm back in business and I can't turn off my PvP adrenaline pump that easily ^^). Funny I ended up with the exact same rank and average score as Tom on the same week, though.

In fact, I'm taking on both Govs and Cisco this week, and... I'm not afraid! (Nothing touches me, I'm a walking razor blade...) 🚬

Finished 7th.  Wasn't lucky w/ a top 4 like last week, b/c this was a much more difficult bracket.  There were 8x prior 1st place winners, and 7x prior top 4 players.  Maybe I shouldn't use refills at all, but there's a compulsion to finish all of my fights, probably for the SE's Xtals.

I used the same strategy for the past 3 weeks.  I'm a strict "Gin User" during the SE.  This should be my last week of refraining from using Cords and AMEs, since it ends during the MD.  Stocked up quite the "war chest" of boosters.  Enough for ~6 weeks of my usual playstyle.

I usually like using 1 AME at the end, and getting top 4s.  If I did that during the SE, then I'd lose Xtals from ignored season fights, which are worth double for some reason.  The way around that, is to use excessive refills, which wouldn't make sense for koban profits.

Apologies in advance for the lack of a screens hot, but I screwed it up.

Saw a league where I saw no big names, and thought I had a shot at a top 4. Went to share my league data, and realized that it was truly a very weak league at the top. and got my second every first place in D3.

This coming week there will be some recognizable name players, and life is busy, so it's a chill and hope for a top 15 week for me. I would guess Moddy will win the league.

After playing things easy and coming in at 10-13 points below expectations for a solid month, I asked Tamako to watch this weeks league season to see what is causing my dismal performance. Of course, since I asked her to watch things, I played a tighter tournament, and so did my girls. This is how things looked when I left for work (I finished 2nd).

 

So Tamako, how did I do?

Greetings, Lord Pelinor. I observed each round and compared the judges scoring to what you accomplished on the field. As you can see, your teams are taking too much time before forcing the other team to orgasm, and this costs you a solid three points. Additionally, you left at least 15 points on the table, by my way of thinking. So here is the breakdown for the season.

Okay. So what happened? I guess either @govenants or @ciscotn passed me over in the final hours (after staying still ~200 pts behind for a day or so). But which one did and, most importantly how? Not that I had a perfect run or anything, my 23.52 average was high but I've seen higher. My surprise comes more from the fact that I front-loaded most of my points in Phase 1 while Blessings were much stronger and I had the top team, and with Phase 2's fairly weak Blessings it seemed much less likely that Govs in particular could get as many points per win (since he mostly skipped Phase 1 and started his push quite late, whereas Cisco also made a lot of refills in Phase 1).

I suspect it was Govs. On top of that, I suspect he shows a fairly subpar team on purpose, as I'm reasonably sure he has all the PvP-relevant girls in the game, but every time I've checked, he had a mishmash of mid-tier girls and just a few of the most blessed girls instead. Seems like a lot of extra work switching back and forth between his "bait team" and his real team for every attack session, and unlikely he never got caught with his real team on by a random snapshot. Psychological warfare, I guess? Let your opponent believe they have you beat until the last moment? If so, well... well played.

Well played too if Cisco is the one who ended up winning this one (or Faust or anyone else though it seems unlikely). I'd just like to know. Hopefully you guys have the final screenshot? I'd very much like to see it. Thanks in advance.

Probably the most expensive top 4 ever in my case. But oh well, I knew it would be a tough one. It's just that I allowed myself to hope and I got beat on the finish line while I was AFK, which is never pleasant.

Gov is one of the geniuses of the league who innovated the Charm-Charm-Knowhow crit trick back when there was 14 000 Koban 1st place reward, and back when he played the game seriously. You can't win against someone of that caliber with just a 23,52 average. It needs to be a bit better than this.

To your other point, I think it means he was too busy with real life these days to play at his best, since you correctly noted the first half had really strong blessings. In that case I think he performed really strong despite this. Congrats to Gov for the successful win🍻

I have not been in D2 in a long time but, I am pretty sure you are going to need more than a 21 average. 

Good luck though.  I think I won my 1st D2 at about level 400 "old" system though much easier.
