EDIT:
**(this is still possible - there is a chance that it gets easier over time to find beatable opponents; then half of all this ruckus here would be meaningless and I'd feel like an idiot ;))

Don't worry. Even if it does get easier with a few more days and things (players) shift themselves out, then in a month time the whole thing will reset, the mess is back, and the ruckus is valid again.

As far as I can tell, this "system" is designed to throw low-level and F2P players under the veteran bus. It will clearly not effect the stated purpose of leveling the gap, as the veterans have more rewards waiting for them while the rest get handed a few toys to keep us quiet. What I haven't decided on yet is if I mind being used as a punching bag for veterans to use as stepping stone at the beginning of every month while I ignore the whole thing. If/when I do quit it'll probably because I'm fed up with being fed BS by KK.

I'm not the first and not the last to see a somewhat useless Season opponent selection screen.

While being and using it on test server, I somehow never saw one special flaw:

The shown def stats are much more often useless!

What is wrong in this screen?

image.thumb.png.6b53f3ba3c8e61bcb3e4d09054cec9cd.png

  • I'm Charm
  • my opponents (in this case) are Charm, HardCore, KnowHow
  • general flaw:
    • there is only one def stat from me visible (my class, charm)
    • and I have three different opponents, so I need to know my def stats specifically based on each opponent's class
      • so it looks relevant to see my Charm def, just it is not in every case
    • which is in this current screen a problem as there is no "select" there is only an instant "perform"
  • "newly discovered" flaw
    • from my opponents I see only their HardCore def stat!
    • Why? I need to see their def stat relevant for my class, in this case Charm!
    • (I did not recognize it on test server as my account over there is HardCore)

Now a single comparison to the "old" screen... where we got "some" months ago the improvement that the relevant def stat is highlighted rather all def stats.

I noticed this too and assumed the defense shown was the teacher.  I only checked once but it matched up.

Even if I'm right I am not sure if this is new, old and insight or a bug.

I assume not old and insight based on your compare screen tho...tho I guess it could have been an old bug=)

I'd be curious if anyone finds the (new) defense shown not matching the teacher.

No, it is always my class shown as defense stat in the season selection screen.

The judge is hidden until you start the fight... (or look somewhere else)

Sorry, right, I meant the enemy defense.

My defense displays Know How, so I assume it's now always your class.  I should have said that :)

As far as judge is hidden until you start, if I'm right, you now should have insight into which judge it is.

UPDATE: With patch on Nov4, this now seems untrue.  They didn't call this out in notes (except "defensive bug") but it seems untrue=)

you could change your gear to the lowest you have - and prefer Harmony or Endurance equipment.

Just change it back for league/villains...

Thx for the suggestion. Too bad I didn`t think of that. Im now at the astonishing level of 44, and seem to not get my mojo lower than 742 (as all my opponents are even worse so its impossible to lose 😪). Currently at rank 54372 in the leaderboard.

I am not exactly sure how anyone below the top players can be defending this or saying they like it because "PvP is good".   I mean we are not talking about an MMO, or a battle royal or anything of the sort here.  Even calling the game a "glorified JPEG collector" as another did is an overstatement.   As much as we have all enjoyed HH before this crap update let's be realistic about what it really is, it is a low budget porn game that they are trying to shoehorn more and more PVP aspects into to milk whales.

PVP has it's place in games where there are good PVP systems such as MMO's, not in crappy thrown together milk the whales styles in porn games.

Even i, lvl 395 are having difficulties... right now i have 1607 mojo and i'm only pairing with people in lvl 400+ and this is only the second day of the season..... this need an urgent change of the matching system if they want this thing to work a little better.. if not, the only ppl that is going to gain something decent of this are going to be the top players in the highest lvls 😟

A lot of people are complaining about the matchmaking, but I think the big story is that they scrapped the arena rewards and replaced them with a giant middle finger.

I'm relatively new (still in fairy forest), most of the story features give slightly less than 10xp per energy.  For instance, a story line advancement that costs 16 energy might give 156 xp.  Since you get about 206 energy per day (assuming you don't let it idle at 100/100), I get about 2000 xp per day from spending energy.  Each day, I would get 2054 xp from winning my eighth arena fight of the day.  That's 60k xp per month.  The max you can get in this system is 45k even if you get to the top rank.  For lower players like me who will be lucky to get the 10k at level 9, it's a brutal drop off.  Obviously, you also get xp from the Tower of Fame, but they essentially made it take almost twice as long to level up.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but something appears to be missing from this accounting of XP sources in the game...

L357 = I'm seeing opponents as high as 449.  SERIOUSLY? In the arena, opponents were regularly 10 levels above me. Fine, that meant i needed well-developed girls (heh) or maybe boosters to win the fights.  now?  I can't begin to challenge most foes without a full set of purple boosters running.  So i have to be in "Grinding for top 4 in league mode" all the time? or give up on getting the best season rewards.

add in, requires real money to get better rewards.

BAH.

Hum... i'm not 100% confident in my maths but if they are correct it's a big bullshit :

There are 45 tiers, each requiring 200 Mojo to get to the next one. I'm currently at the beginning of tier 3 (with 1401 Mojo)
So there are 43 tiers to go, meaning 200 x 43 = 8600 Mojo to win

On the other hand, I win an average of 14 Mojo per battle, and I'm able to play 2 times a day, meaning 20 kisses used per day

If I consider that there are 26 days to go AND THAT I WILL WIN ALL BATTLES, we got 14 x 20 x 26 = 7280 Mojo available

8600 > 7280...
so even in the MOST IDEAL scenario it is impossible to win all the classic pass rewards...

Congratulations Kinkoid !

PS : Once again, I'm quite bad at maths so I might have made a huge mistake or forgot something, don't hesitate to tell me why I'm wrong, I would love to improve 😁

yeah, there are some huge mistakes: first, you have 24 kisses a day (maybe you personally cannot use more than 20 because of how often you log in or whatever); second: a month usually has 30 bzw. 31 days, but at least 28. third: average mojo should be considerd 16 or 16,5 (i doubted most players will be having this average though).

That means: 30x24x16,5 = 11880

Obviously there are many factors which probably will lower your result massively (especially the highly unfair opponent selection), but in theory you can get enough mojo to reach the top tier even with some losses.

edit: okay, i just saw, you only described your personal situation - yeah, if you only can fight 20 kisses a day and considering your current level, the days left and a not increasing mojo-average (if it just increase about 2 points, you can make it), you wont reach the last tier without some refills. Luckily we only have to reach 35 for the girl.

@blaa thx for the constructive return !

I didn't expect the average Mojo gain to be 16 😮

However, while I agree that there are 30 days in a month, didn't the Season of Rose started on monday ?

the mojo formula is from 1 to 32 mojo as gain. And from -32 to -1 as loss.

So in theory the average should be 16.

Yes, for sake of "technical support"  - I assume - they waited this 1 day to start on Monday.

By announcement I expect that in future it will start 13:00 CET on first of a month and end 12:59 CET on the first of the next month.

the new patch notes that will be applied today

https://kinkoid.com/patchnotes/hh_week45/

will modify the matchmaking and the mojo range.

Matchmaking

    • Matchmaking will take into account player level. You will be matched with players +/- 40 levels of you.

Mojo increased

    • The range of Mojo is increased to 1 – 40 (from 1 -32) and the average Mojo won is 20 (from 16) which means faster progression in the Season.

Applied, 40 lvls are too much leeway. Even in the old arena system i was unable to beat players with 20lvls advantage, it's simply impossible when this is doubled down to 40...

i guess, in the old arena system nobody was able to beat players with 20 level above. But the reason wasnt their strength.

I guess, they will further adjust it, if it really is impossible. One problem is that they need a big enough player pool so that people can reasonable advance; that's probably not gonna happen with just +/- 15 levels

edit: I like a) that they take fast action and b) they improved it for the better (even though there is still a lot of room); looking forward to the soft reset =D

Regardless the old system: I usually expect a loss when I have to fight 20+lvl.

... unless I'm boosted and he is not...

That was my one of my assumptions: a side effect ist "getting rid of bot opponents" (for easy arena).

And even when I am on top of the top - my further progress depends on the move up of other players.

So I think the assumption is that "with a big player base" there is no stagnation during one month as some always want to move up.

Yeah this is simply not true for most players as you said. I would even say that 12 is too much.

I am on tier 3 where sometimes ALL my opponents are 100+ levels above mine so i am forced to
a) spend kisses on losing
OR
b) spend kobans on rerolls (no i dont think so Kinkoid)

The overall design of this new feature is complete trash for players under 400 lvl. What is more, missed exp rewards will create even bigger gap between new players and veterans ensuring that we are probably forever stuck in first 10 tiers every season from now on. It's just mind boggling that someone from Kinkoid actually approved this change.

In these 4 days I got to try the new Season Mode, I give my opinion:
The new game mode is a very good idea, but really bad in some things.

Example:
When I win, I gained between 12 and 18 points, when I lose, I lose between 18 and 26 .. moreover, most of the time, in the random choice of opponents, I appear trio in which all 3 players are stronger than me, ergo or I spend koban (but with the risk that in the new trio are all stronger than me again) or I must necessarily lose to progress. And that's not good ... because seeing streak of 3-4 losses, which cause you even losing nearly 100 Mojo points, is frustrating.

Therefore, I propose 3 possible solutions should be adopted:
1. Or the defeat does not involve the loss Mojo, but only Kiss ticket.
2. Or the trio of opponents automaticly reset (as it was in Arena Mode) every 30 minutes or 1 hour or 2 hours: in this way, if the player finds 3 opponents all stronger than him, he can decide don't play and wait for new defeatable challengers appear.
3. Or in each random chosen trio, at least 1 opponent must be of a lower level (maybe it earns you a fewer points than the other 2, but at least the player doesn't obliged to lose the battle to progress in the game).

Thanks.

Pretty much all your feedback is useless based on the fact that you think you've been testing it for 4 days when it's been out for just over 48 hours. If we can't trust you to count to two, the rest is absolute garbage.

Don't you think that 2 out of 4 days were on the test? Or do you prefer to act first and think later? Why is your aggression?

From a user's first ever comment absolutely I think they've never even heard of the test server. Take your own advice.
