How you doing in the "League"

casey

Recommended Posts

I finished second again as predicted, and these were the standings before I went to bed. Yuzuru was weakened then, thus Gogeta won (I only conceded one battle loss to him). There were many high level players constantly boosted so I did only 7016 points (22,93 average). I have seen a slow but constant increment in the average strength of the players in D3 the last weeks, and more players are boosted all time.

This week look promising, I am the top level player and there are no former winners, but translating one old spanish say "you cannot sell the bear's fur before you hunt it"

This week in Club Fairy Tail.😎

We got a new member JK84 who is above level 400 with solid top 15 achievements. This bumps us up to Rank 31 in the club list.

yyyxxxccc and Teric also breached past level 400, so we're now 5 players who passed this milestone.

Lot's of solid Top 10 and Top 15 placements for the guild. yyyxxxccc, 123234, Pokuru, Shadowhaamu, JK84, showing some promising growth.

Tune in next week for new and exciting adventures in Fairy Tail😘

Finished 53rd in D3, moved up one reward Tier finally.... after 3 months 😂.

At this rate, I might reach top 30 in a year or so, if ever. Am in the bottom 15 by level again this week, hoping to be able to replicate this week's result.

As expected of my overall low leveled D3 bracket last week, I won
There were no clear 2-4 place takers in my group so most of the level 400+ players were boosted all the time, and the 2nd place taker was 261 points behind me in the end.

This week my main competition are: Yuzuru (LVL 424 with 3 D3 wins), JamesFrancoPhD (LVL 417 with 7 D3 wins) and Nari (LVL 415 with 9 D3 wins).
It's gonna be a tough week.

demoted on place 87 with only 576 points; bad week xp-wise, but at least I can now farm d2 again.

The league looks weird again, i have 37 players with higher lvl than me in the league, a lot of them, also KH players, with better stats, but none of them (who could probably beat me) have ever won a d2, but a lot of 2nd places. 😃 So my strategy is to wait till this evening and then take a go or leave it. (But it's most likely a go)

Yeah! I won D3 :D9_9 the season just ended............it wasn't unexpected as i was the highest level player by 8 levels.

This season, i've got @Habi at level 435 along with 21 other players at level 400 or higher to contend with

Maybe i'll save my good boosters and go for a top 15 finish only...............after all i don't have any chance at first place

so is it worth going all out for at best a 2nd - 4th  place finish ........... a commitment of 2500 kobans is needed to win 5700

kobans with no guarantees of doing so

It was 100% very tough. Master HornDog is extra scary compared to the rest of us, and I have strong respect for everybody in The Porn Identity club.

I just hope I avoid strong players like him in the upcoming week.

Congrats for being able to overcome Master Horndog and winning the 1st place! You deserved it since you were playing all the time unlike Master Horndog who woke up toward the end.

As for me, I finished 9th, my best best performance so far. I totally didn't expect this outcome seeing the number of powerful players. I think I'm making a decent progress despite my low level which is very satisfying.

Annoying D3 week.

image.png.20528ed746bbd59aef123148f984212a.png

Why am I so far behind the last non-demotion spot, you ask? With only about 36 hours to go, that spot was held by a player with under 700 points, while the next player up was already at >2000. Okay, bad luck, 16 players trying to get into the 15 demotion spots apparently. But then one of the zero-pointers inexplicably started to refill towards 2000 points...I first thought he had miscalculated and thought that 88th place would still demote, but a few hours before the end he fully rushed to finish the league in...5th place. Well done spending as many kobans in refills as that position was worth.

Anyway, with that little time left in the week I didn't come close to moving up from 600-ish points to the new demotion line near 2500. Oh well. Still almost 25,000 XP so it wasn't that bad overall.

My new D2 may prove even more annoying, with what looks like 4 other competitors also challenging for the win: A level 394 KH (8 wins), 393 HC (7 wins), 391 Ch (best 2nd place, but now buffed, of course) and 387 HC (10 wins) are all massively boosted right now. Not sure yet if I'm going to try to win that.

Sorry if you've explained this before I joined the thread, or I didn't pay attention when you did, but may I ask why you don't stay in D2 until you get a bit stronger? It seems to me like you could almost certainly earn much better rewards in D2 with the level of performance it requires to reach top 60 in D3. I'm sure you must have a reason, I just can't guess it (and I'm curious).

Annoying D3 week.

You still scored more points, and I'm sure more XP than I did. ^^ In my case, there were 12 players who stayed at 0 points until the last day, and a few others who also seemed to be very careful not to earn points until the player above them did. I scored around 200 points without paying too much attention on the very first day (just playing my first 15 fights normally), and I was actually out of demotion range for a couple of days just because of that... It was pretty scary, but it forced me to pay much closer attention, and that was a good learning opportunity. A few players eventually got bored or careless and let me fall down from #88 to #93, but I was so scared of missing out on demotion by that point, I barely touched anything unless I felt super mega safe doing so. I ended at #92.

One thing I'm still unclear about is how extra players being added to the league mid-season can affect the demotion plan. You're referring to #89 as the last rank for demotion range, which was also the case in my league last week, so I take it yours had 103 players as well. Is it the new 100 for D3? What if you're sitting pretty at #89 ready to demote, and then someone is added near the end and decides to stay at 0 points? I was super afraid of that, checking daily if the league still had 103 players.

D3 can't get late joins, since that requires players who got demoted with 0 points from the next-higher tier the week before. Was just a week with unusually large brackets in D3 from the start, many others I've been part of in recent months had 100/101 players only.

But yeah, for D2 and below you can get screwed by late joins if you're tracking close to the demotion line and suddenly that gets shifted to a lower rank.

I landed in D3 due to carelessness. Before the week I promoted, I wasn't even close to 30th in D2 but I must've landed in a week league, with everyone tanking in last few hours. I didn't pay attention and I jumped more than 10 places with just 3-4 fights to land me in that dreaded 15th place.

The first time in D3, I just went with it, the first couple of days to see how it's going and scored some wins here and there - the demotion line, in that league was somewhere around 11 points in that week lol. So yeah, was stuck in D3 one more week. The following was no better, and I had a few XP contests running at that time when the leagues reset and I didn't want to lose my lead in those, so again I scored some points and didn't demote. By the third week I already reached a reward Tier, so I just thought I might as well stick with it, because of the XP and I tend to try hard in contests as well.

For kobans of course, I probably should have demoted and stayed in D2. However I feel I'm in that weird range (310-350) where you're not strong enough to win or even place 2-4th in D2 (a win in D2 is worth the yo-yoing between the two leagues IMO, but not worth it if you can only achieve 5-15th place) but you are also a bit too strong for it (i.e you'll probably have to forgo fights and therefore XP to stay above 15th). And Mythic Pachinko and Orbs helped a bit as well, with them I could boost for free, making my life a little easier those past 2-3 weeks.

The usual trend stil continues, with me ending at 17th place with the usual rewards. The new league seems a little harder in difficulty, with apparently quite a high number of players with an 300K+ EGO (probably unboostered, or at least that was my impression). Alas, my league situation may change heavily in the next weeks (I will explain why later in a post in the Off topic thread).

Got another win in my d2 season; average was 23,42 points and both 2nd and 3rd were CH players, number 4 was a KH player with much better stats, but he decided a) to not use all his tokens and b) not to boost until the very last day

Now back in d3 and it's demotion time again

edit: Ironically the highest lvl and stats wise player (HC, 398) demoted in d1 to fight for another win

Very heavy competition for a D2 bracket again...

image.png.f05834c8b84837fc0669fda89ab02800.png

#2: 396 KH, maxed club
#3: 378 Ch, maxed club
#4: 400 KH, no club
#5: 389 HC, maxed club
#6: 395 HC, nearly maxed club (maxed in HC)
#7: 389 KH, maxed club

All near permanent boost users, of course.

#7 was hopeless from the start. Even maxed club contributions aren't gonna do much if you're a KH player but using Golden Bunny as your alpha... (With Ombresse as beta and Levitya as Omega!) I didn't pay much attention to him for that reason, so I'm not sure what he boosted with throughout the week, but at the end of the season it was 4 chlorella, so that probably didn't help either.

#2 and #5 were the other mentioned players with lots of prior D2 wins besides me, and I initially thought #6 was, too. (I mistook his 7 D1 wins for D2's last Thursday, his profile lists the tiers the "wrong" way around.) But they all sabotaged themselves a bit by consistently using at least one booster slot for chlorella, from what I saw. Still, feels very satisfying to have come out of that crowd winning as the lowest level player. :)10th win! I missed an average score of exactly 24 points per battle by 2 points, heh. Certainly my best average ever, of course.

#3 and #4 played smarter and went only with ginseng and cordyceps, but of course #3 had the level disadvantage (even to me, which is still rare for a D2 challenger), and #4 was never gonna compete without club bonuses even as the bracket's top level player. I'm actually surprised that #4 managed to hold off the two HC guys.

#3 did quite a bit of early refills, and eventually finished his battles first among the contenders. Also 3 previous D2 wins for him, tough week for everyone who got dumped into this particular bracket. He probably would have won most others with the recent Charm buff. The level 391 Charm player I mentioned in the quoted post seemed to stop boosting after a day or two, on the other hand, and ended up in 27th place.

Amusingly huge gap between 7th and 8th place, and yet further to 9th and beyond.

The winning margin ended up much larger than I feared it could be - the #2 player was still averaging 23.87 with less than a day to go, but he had missed lots of battle tokens through the week, so yesterday saw him rush through over 100 remaining battles and his average cratered to under 23.50. I wasn't 100% sure if his slow but high-scoring early battles had been mainly against lower-level opponents or not, but evidently they were. That was the only wildcard, by Monday I was pretty certain the others would be no problem for me.

On a final note: Out of the top 7 finishers, only #6 and I were actually present in the bracket at the start. The other 5 were all late joining players. Not sure if fluke or trend.

My new D3 actually sees me as an above-average player for the very first time, ranking 50th by level out of 102 players total. No change of strategies though, of course, back to D2 it is.

Heavy fight this week for top 4 and as expected I just fell short in 5th. Annoying thing is that I didn't check before the reset so I can't see who passed me and by how much. Could have been useful to learn from. I was 3rd with about an hour to go, so yeah. Potentially 3 people could have passed me, knowing which one could be meaningful. Alas. I think @Fiel won? Or did that other guy pass you as well?

This league looks friendlier at first sight with no players more than 12 levels above me. But after closer examination it is a ver risky one with many of around the same strength. I'm going to fight hard and see. But I could end up 1st or 7th just as easily. Some luck will be required.

After some weeks I won again in D3. 6877 points and 22.92 average.

It feels so good to get a free 10xEP B|:D

saitamax KH was second, Asoa KH 3rd, cyril changed to CH on friday, but only reached 4th, it seems the buff for charm is not enough.

This week i am in the "group of death": Varlock (20wins),  Tatouf metouf (20wins), [CNO] Mimil (8 wins), my club mates Jechko (10 wins),  xxxvvdxxx (9 wins) and Alucard (9 wins), ...

I will consider myself lucky if I can finish 4th.

Ah damn. I expected him to be even higher. I have beaten him in the past, but he was still charm then. Very large difference in lvl, no shame then. Thanks for the info. :)

I would say cyril's level is too low in this case. On my Nutaku account I became second to a charm account. I was 10 levels lower, to give you an impression of what is needed to compete as a charm player. He (and I did as well) also beat KH players with a much closer level to him. One even had the same level as the charm player. So I'd say a good player will give you a run for your money.

Just finished 18th in D3. I only missed 2 battles and yet my 5691 points weren't enough to get into the top 15. I realize my un-boosted stats could improve quite a bit, so I'm not in a hurry to try again soon. While I make my stats grow, I'll be content with ranking between 16th - 30th; the rewards are nice, and I can afford a steady supply of legendary boosters (I use them often, but not at all times, yet ;) )

Good luck and have fun :)

Well, still making it up as I go along, and still learning from my mistakes (in any case, ever since I've left the boring routine that D1 had become for me, it's been a challenging and more varied experience each week). After concluding my second week in D2 now, it's safe to say I've made the two biggest mistakes one can make in a league, so I should only improve from there. ^^ Not anywhere near as bad as my first week in D2 where I accidentally promoted to D3, but still not a sight anyone wants to see:

1780416885_HHLeagueStory14BackinD2.png.40d1c099ad526c5540557d1ebd95682c.png

I was #24 when I went to bed (about 2 hours before reset) and scores were so tight there were two literal ties between #15 and me... I guess this game isn't forgiving to people living in the CET time zone... (shocker, I know ^^). But oh well, that's still decent for me.

The new season doesn't look too bad: no one at 400+ and I'm only the second lowest level this time around. Let's see if I can either get a top 45 with significantly less efforts, or actually secure a top 30 this time. ^^

That was a really weird week as you can see from the screenshot. That was taken just 2.5 hours before league reset. Both James and Yuzuru had those stats during the entire Wednesday, I thought that they were waiting for the remaining opponents for them to drop their boosters, but 2.5 hours after the last league update they still hadn't done a single fight. I refuse to believe that these were the scores they ended up with, as James had almost identical stats as I had (when we had the same booster setup), my stats were only slightly higher, almost 4k EGO more for example. When I woke up I saw that I had won my D3 league, so I dunno what score they ended up with.

First league where I was unable to be present (and fight until) 5:00am, because of my new internship times. I was able to maintain the 16-30 reward tier, although I did my last battle around 2:00am ending at 16th place, and this morning I discovered I ended 23rd, a result that I may not be able to mantain with my definitive working hours.

My new league seems quite a struggle, with a number of players in a bunch of points (one hour ago I passed from 64th to 13rd place in only 9 battles won with an average near to 18 point per battle). Anyways, I hope to be able to mantain the same result next Thursday.
